I have a chance to pick up a like new 3/8" Cornwell digital torque wrench with angle indicator at what seems to be a good price of less than half of retail. I have not heard or read too much about the quality of these. Are they comparable to the digital Snap-On? Does anyone know who makes the digital torque wrenches for Cornwell?

Before getting my Snap On Techangles (1/4", 3/8", 1/2"), I researched and tried quite a few digital torque wrenches, such as Matco, Gearwrench, Lowes Kobalt, Craftsman.

Most digital torque wrenches (except Snap On) are from Taiwan or China. The electronic control are similar to each other. The Corwell in your picture looks similar to Carlyle and Kobalt.

IMO, Snap On's control is the best: the beep volume, vibration feel, color light indication, also the dual 80 flex heads are very useful.

I'd skip the Cornwell, because a used Snap On is close to 50% retail too, and newer is always better (like all electronics) . The new Gearwrench 120XP torque wrenches are nicer, but not quite as nice as Snap On. The cheapest one with angle seems Kobalt, a 3/8" could be had for less than $100.

Well, it sold yesterday for $150. I'm not in a hurry so I will probably get a Snap-On Techangle whenever i can get one at a good price. Thanks

That's made by Eclatorq in Taiwan and that's a very good wrench. I use to sell them and they are top of the line.
