I have a cornwell gearless air grinder - I've had it for years, and it's performed great ! Well.. when I bought it, I did not pay attention to the "gearless" part - what does that mean ? Is it unique comparing to other angle grinders ?

I just got a new cornwell catalog - and I see they now have a reversible grinder/cut off air tool. Anyone have experince with these ? I know matco has had them for a while.. and mac used to have them.. snapon = no.

Also, anyone know if cornwell tools are USA made or what ?

The motor of the "gearless" grinder is in the head of the tool, as opposed to say an IR301, where the motor is in the body of the tool and requires gears to transfer the power from the motor to the head of the tool.

as far as the CAT820R, I sold a lot of them and have had no problem out of them.

Cornwell hardline is USA made, Air tools with a CAT part number sadly are not.. :(

I have the reversable cut off tool from Cornwell and have been happy with it, also have the gearless die grinder as well and have no complaints there either.
