Well, not really. Cornwell tools in the islands are about as common as **** on a bull. But, you GJ folks peaked my interest, so I slowly bought some Cornwell tools off of ebay for very cheap as compared to the other truck prices.

I must say I'm impressed. Yes, the ratchets are old school, but they are a breeze to repair/clean and I love the design of reverse levers and the fine chrome detail. They are the most indestructable ratchets I've found. Snap-on, Proto, Armstrong, Matco; they break far too easily for my tastes, but the Cornwells seem to be tough as nails. Especially the levers.

Anyway, I doubt I'll get any good warrenty service, but as cheap as they are, I can live with it and I don't plan of abusing them. Who knows, maybe I'll set a local trend.

Some people on the board have had good warranty service from Cornwell through the mail. They have some tough old school hardline items.

Thanks Fedwrench, I hope you're right and I'll try if needed. Hawaii is pretty far with no dealers, but I'll enjoy the Cornwell's and not get upset if I can't replace them. After all, it was my decision and and I'm okay with that. Hell, they're just tools and I know I'll get my moneys worth out of them.

Cornwell's original USA hardline, is incredible. The re-labeled Asian, Cornwell tools are junk. I wish Cornwell would quit the cheap immitations, and get back to their original tougher than tough roots.

I love Cornwell tools. I successfully and painlessly received a warranty replacement through the mail. Very easy.

I learned about Cornwell years ago when I asked about them over at Mark Kw's site and I thought to myself that I would like some Cornwell someday. Well, no Cornwell yet but I'm still looking. And with peer pressure by the tonne here on GJ, (now even from Hawaii :D), who nows. Those blue handle industrial finish ratchets looks wicked.

Have a nice day. :)

I HATE soft handle ratchets, I don't trust plastic to last for 20-30 years, and I expect my ratchets to last for my lifetime at least.

Cornwell is not soft handled. They are hard plastic, like the older generation Snap-On. I have a blue handled, chrome finish long 3/8 Cornwell that has seen quite a bit of use. It was used to work on big trucks. The blue handle was nicked, scratched, and stained, but not cracked or broken. After a little wetsanding and polishing, it looks like new again.

That's great looking wrenchr. I don't care if the handles are hard, or soft plastic, I still don't like 'em. I want cold, hard steel handles.

*snip* I want cold, hard steel handles.
I've grown to like standard handles over hard/soft handles myself. Just something about that black/blue color combo on that Cornwell. Maybe I can look at that and wrench with the standard handle, lol.

Have a nice day. :)

The Cornwells take a licking and keep on ticking! I really like mine a lot. I have never yet had a warranty issue with them.

ive been a cornwell buyer for some time now and ive never had any problems with any cornwell tools i own, and they get used everyday in a very busy shop. the only problem is that the cornwell "guy" that came to my work sold his franchise back to cornwell because their tools were not selling. now i have no cornwell guy. but IMO they have top quality ratchets, sockets and wrenches.

Hey wrenchr,
What brand are those snap ring pliers in the picture?
Thanks:)

There was no brand on the package when I bought them, they are made in Germany though and they are quality!! I bought them at a small tool shop.
