An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Does Cornwell make their own prybards or does Mayhew make them? In the video I saw on Stacy David's Gearz where they tour the Cornwell facility they show a woman running a press where she is pressing the handle on the prybar itself. Just wondering, that could be a video from Mayhew's facility, kind of like how Cornwell's toolbox manufacturing is actually Waterloo's Mexico facility.

We make our prybars. Mayhew does make one for us though. It is the 60" pbh60 is our part number. It is 2" longer than the mayhew 40162. Both have a lifetime warranty.

I don't know who makes them but they are tough. I have 3 of them and none have broken so far. I never ever abuse them either:lol_hitti

I've got a set of the older blue "hard handle" Cornwell prybars and the master scraper set. Both have served me well and I haven't had any issues with them. I've got SO hard handle prybars and I reach for the CW first almost every time. I certainly feel the quality is on par.

According to the poster above Mayhew only makes one of the Cornwell prybars. As far as impact wrenches goes - everybody seems to rebrand IR.

Cornwell makes their own prybars like the other poster said. I have one and it has the least flex of any prybar I own. I wish I would have bought some more before they changed the handle, I liked the old ones. Cornwell makes the following: ratchets, sockets (chrome and impact), wrenched, prybars, punches and chissels. There are a few non cornwell tools in these examples, but for the most part, these are made by cornwell.

I have a prybar that barely fits my long socket drawer on my KRL761 and it's the older style smaller blue handle. It's a beast. I used it today prying on a control arm and my co-worker said what do you call that one? I said "little guy" cause I have an even bigger SO one I just got that won't even fit in a drawer. I think it's at least 6' tall and heavy

I have a 30" straight tip Cornwell prybar on a Snap-On striking hard handle in black. It's my go to prybar. I call it my "Snap-Well" prybar lol

I don't think Mayhew makes the current Cornwell pry bars with the striking cap as the Cornwell handle says "Made in USA" on it. Only the blades are US made on the Mayhew Dominator series.:D

Cornwell quit having Witte make their screwdrivers. They went back to their previous style and added a rubber coating to make them more sticky. I'm not sure if they're making them on their own though.

No one line is still made by witte. The new line is not made by them.

Not true. Cornwell still sells the witte made screwdrivers and pick sets in blue and orange. Unfortunately, the new style Cornwell screwdrivers with the black rubber/blue plastic handled screwdrivers are made in Taiwan as are the picks and other similar handled tools..:wtf:

The orange screwdrivers are discontinued. So far, the less expensive screwdrivers are holding up pretty good. I really don't know what the big deal is, they are lifetime warranty just like the witte screwdrivers and picks. You get a new handle also, not just the shaft.

If you have a lifetime guarantee, then the screwdrivers should be well made. Just hope the company are still around in 20-30 years if it snaps. :)

That is one thing about Cornwell, if you break a screwdriver or pry bar the handle gets replaced as well.
