can anyone ID the mfr for these......

i bought that set in 1984 IIRC. i have always assumed vermont american as the mfr. i have also seen the same handle on crescent branded screwdrivers.

CMAN has square shanks too...........it could have been western forge or pratt-read for that matter.

i do know that VA purchased ROSCOE (the original mfr of the mac woodies an yellow acetate drivers) but did VA just let the screwdriver line go or was it sold off to someone else?

I see how the narrowest part of your screwdriver handle is very distinct.

But here is another thing...

I noticed the writing side of your Cornwells was positioned with the shank at exactly a 45 degree angle and the tips line up the same.... I don't think that current tool manufacturers think about that now... but I think these could have come from the same OEM back in the day....

I've got those USA-made Great Necks in orange, but I think the handle has a slightly more rounded shape to it, circa the S-O handles of the 60's. But I could be wrong...
