Picked up this item at an auction last Saturday. When I saw it I was not sure what it was, but figured it out after awhile. I got it when I bought a table cleanup for $3.00 which included it and other tools. I don't think anyone else knew anything about it.
The Cornwell socket is patented and designed to tighten the different sized stud tools around the stud. The socket is square inside with rounded corners. It fits over the stud tools and when it is turned tightens around the stud. The stud tools are different sizes and the four barrels have a file-like surface which grasps the stud and turns it out. The flat round end goes down and the socket fits over the barrels. I tried it and it works fine. The box even has some of the original label.
