Should I buy this Cornwell tool box

I found a Cornwell toolbox at a Pawn shop that is exactly the same as this one. Same color and condition all for $500.

I am thinking about getting it. But wonder about long term quality of this type of box. As I messed around with it, it felt similar to a Craftsman Pro

Anyone have one of these types. Are they Waterloo or Kennedy rebadges?

Actually depending on the year of manufacture, the box could be a Kennedy or a Remline produced unit. I have the 60 inch wide Kennedy made unit. It has held up well for me. I got a deal from a dealer that wanted to get a box into the dealership I worked at. Mine is overloaded but, the drawers slide freely. The paint, fit, and finish are good. If the box felt more like a Craftsman unit, the one you looked at might be a remline unit. If the box is in great shape, $500 for the top and bottom isn't a bad price. The only drawback to the box in the Ebay link is that it doesn't offer any room for expansion. The current Cornwell side lockers don't match the older style of boxes.

I tried to bargain them down. But they were as low as they were going to go. They said they had already reduced it from $750. I got it for $500.00 even out the door (That included the taxes). Got it from the same pawn shop that I got my Cranberry Snap on one.

There is only one handle on it, and it doesn't look like factory, but I can live with that (see photo). All in all good shape, a few scrapes here and there but in good condition.

I also included a shot of the free KD wrench I got today. It was spinning freely and one of my tool suppliers offered it up for free. It was like brand new, I don't know how it broke, but it works now!

I also found a legendary 3 sided Snap on screwdriver (Called POWER GRIP screwdrivers by the way) for 3 bucks.

Not too bad a day!

Did Kennedy ever make Mac boxes; some aspects of this box remind me of my old compound slide Mac top and bottom box.

Blacknwhitepit,

I see you have four threaded inserts on each side. You can take off that plain 2 bolt handle and put on the 4 bolt handle with the round bar that's on this eBay box here:

You can get it from Kennedy.

I'm in trouble asked my wife if she liked it. First got the lecture about not needing another box.

Then she turned around and started after me for not buying ones in pretty colors like that.

Thanks for the info, I think I will order them. I just ordered the catalog online. It seems Kennedy has a fairly decent website.
