Pretty sure this a wrist pin installer for a Model A or about 1932-34 V8 Ford!
It is old and essentially extinct now because almost all replacement pistons use a different retainer ring setup.
The original pistons had the snap ring for retaining the piston pin axially in the middle of the connecting rod small end. This tool carried the pin into its home and the tapered end weaseled it into the snap ring...once it clicked in, the tool unscrewed into 2 pieces for removal. Almost all aftermarket pistons used regular one-at-each-end snap rings not requiring the tool. The 4 and 8 cylinder tools are similar but different diameters.
