Anybody have any experience with cornwells mag lock socket holder? I currently use a variety of socket holders from hansen trays to mechanic time savers twist and lock some harbor freight trays to regular old school socket rails. I also have a few of the Napa plastic socket rails. Im trying to standardize my socket storage. I saw those mag lock rails on the truck holding a full1/2 impact set my dealer says he drives around all day and hasn't lost a socket yet. Anybody actually own these and use them daily. I really like the Napa plastic socket rail but it is a pain to remove a socket from them. Any advise would be appreciated thanks.

if you mean these ones:

http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat/products.php?product=VMMR16B16C-%2d-1{47}2"-Magrail-TL,-16"

they are vim tools magrails

they are great but pricey

the cheapest place i've found to get them are at tooltopia.com

you can see more about them here:

http://www.vimtools.com/store/page30.html

as much as i wanted them... i spent two weeks going back and forth... checking out every type of rail out there.... in the end i just couldn't justify the price.... they are a damn good rail... don't get me wrong and those that use them on here will give them full marks

what i did was buy the first version of the mag rails... vim tools are clearing them out at a steal... so i loaded up on them $5 rail

check those ones out here:

I see thanks for the links.they are the vim tool mag rails. I usually don't buy stuff online if I can help it but its good to see that you can get it cheaper. Even though they are pricey they still seem really appealing. I want some thing that holds my sockets but not so tight that when I try to pull one socket I pull upthe whole rail. It is nice to know that my sockets are secure but im not jumping my tool cart the most g forces my socket experience is when I open my drawer I don't know why they make them such a ***** to pull off.

Btw they are the ones lennox linked to off the cornwell and vim site. Im on my phone so I don't think I can post links.

That is why I use ^^^^^^^^^^. Each socket is locked in individually and it is a 1 hand operation to release them. Pretty neat actually.

Is this something I could buy from a tool truck or maybe even a physical store. Like I said I usually don't buy stuff online and I especially stay away from ebay. But if they are not available then ill get them online.

Yeah, but on the truck they are like 30+. That is why I bought from them. You won't be disappointed. Might check around your town somebody might have them already. But I bought like 20 sets for all my stuff, I love them.

I use the Magrails in my cart and I think they're the best socket holder I have ever used. they aren't cheap but, they save a lot of headaches. They're not meant for transport though. It takes a bit of effort to pry the rail off the cart lid or till. Great rails though.

That's what im looking for. I want the socket rail to stay put and the socket to come off not the other way around.
