Cornwell toolbox

This is my first post on this forum so forgive me if this sis t the right section. But I have a 60” 13 drawer cornwell (04678 according to the sticker on the back) I need to find some drawer slides. I’ve talked with Cornwell and they say Kennedy won’t sell them anymore and Kennedy won’t talk to them. I call Kennedy and they say Cornwell bought all the stock and Cornwell won’t talk to them and I’ve called the slide manufacturer and can’t get any communication back. Couple weeks later I call Cornwell again and he’s been looking for replacements or a proper equivalent for them and so far it’s been 3 months and nada. So figured I’d try this forum and the toolbox has been repainted so it won’t look like it used to, I believe it was blue with gold handles before. I’ll attach some pictures. I appreciate the help.

The whole back and forth between Kennedy and Cornwell makes no sense since Cornwell owns Kennedy since 2016.

Good luck on the search. Sometimes companies get modified designs of slides. They usually buy some number for spares. But when that runs out, no body wants to buy another run of special slides with minimum production quantities for an out of production tool box. So then your option is to find a similar slide you can adapt.

I don’t understand their lack of communication at all.

I’ve looked at accursed site and it looks close that it may work?

And I’ve talked to several different Cornwell people because we all get someone who is having an off day and doesn’t care. Happen to get a woman one who told me it’s not their responsibility to replace the drawer slides that are out of date…. So I said I need a dealer near me to trade my box in for a box that they will support for the short time being and she hung up on me ha.

I'm not shocked that they don't care about your old used repainted tool box. But it does look like Accuride slides of many configurations are readily available. I'd take one off and find the part number.

It’s a given that I care more about the box than they do. I called accuride and got the same enthusiasm as Cornwell, called two weeks later and was told they’d get back with me if they thought one would work. It’s been two months so I’m going with none would work that they have.

Pathetic that these “top” brands don’t support their products. They make it difficult to justify spending money with them.

Accuride may use special part numbers for Cornwell slides and not sell them except through Cornwell.

I needed a new hydraulic cylinder for a Toro Groundsmaster mower. Toro wanted a bunch of money for it. Local hydraulic shop said they could not rebuild it or source anything like it. The manufacturer's info was on it. I called them and they said we only sell that cylinder to Toro and can't sell it to anyone else.

Try the slides from an old Craftsman box. Might be worth a try.
