Hey guys, I know there’s a thread here and there, but not a ton about Cornwell tools. I just figured I’d post my experience for people like me trying to find info. I’ve got a Cornwell dealer that visits my shop every week and he’s awesome, and a Snap On guy that leaves a lot to be desired. In the last 6 months, I’ve bought 72 and 30 tooth ratchets that are outstanding, the Taiwan made screwdriver set (probably my favorite tool from the truck) and the BluePower Combination wrench set (6-24mm) that the dealer cut me a deal on for $250. I’ve got a lot from him and the only thing that’s lacking imho are the imported pliers. They do have USA made (probably rebadged Channellock) wire crimpers that are solid though. Also, and what got me on the truck to begin with, is the Cat4150 1/2 impact. Really quiet and probably 95%as powerful as the Snap On mg725 that most of my coworkers have for about 60% of the cost. Anyway, just wanted to put my 2 cents in, hope it’s helpful to someone.

This speaks more to the quality of Witte than Cornwell but the Wiite made mini hook and pick set is great. All of them still have the same shape as when I bought them when there is no reason they should lol.

A Cornwell truck started coming to the shop for one of the new guys who had an account with him at his previous job. You really don’t see to many Cornwell trucks around at least in my area. He had a full truck with a lot of inventory. I like the BluePower line of sockets and wrenches. They have some nice monthly special deals especially the BOGO deals. The BluePower line is Taiwanese very similar to Snapon BluePoint. I believe it even less expensive if you get something during the monthly specials. The wrenches you spoke about I think are a good deal. They are slim long and not bulky. I’ve been getting some very good pricing on tools.

My favorite thing about Cornwell is that their fliers actually have stuff on sale that I need, rather than just a bunch of specialty tools. My Snap On rep had a rare sale on the 8-19 Blue Point wrench set for $200, Cornwell had the same sized Blue power set on sale for $100.... and my blue power wrenches seem to be excellent quality. I used to want all US made tools, but after seeing the kind of quality coming out of Taiwan, I changed my tune a bit. Btw, this is my first Cornwell dealer. Everywhere else I’ve been has always been Snap On and Matco.

I’ve almost exclusively shopped the sales flyer and got some great deals. My dealer will even order me something from the flyer for the sale price... I can’t say the same about other trucks I’ve dealt with.

I wish I could get the Cornwell dealer hiding around Albany NY to stop by my shop, love their tools but they never answer back when I send an inquiry about getting the guy to stop by.

Our Cornwell guy is awesome ! He shows up every week and is very personable.
He gets most of the business due to the sheer numbers if Cornwell boxes in the mechanic shop. I work in another Department,but I rarely see anyone on the Snappy truck, Mac guy quit stopping by,Matco guy stopped coming also.

I’ve got a similar scenario, only one of my coworkers has a running snap on account, everyone else is exclusively Cornwell, myself included. If I need Snap On, I’ll order it online.

Sweet Henry. Is it a golden boy or a big boy? The small jet airport my dad works for had some corperate editions made and him and a bunch of the guys in the shop bought some and I received a .22 golden boy for Christmas that year it's a fun gun to shoot and very beautiful and full of quality. In the past couple weeks he noticed some corrosion and rust pits on the levers of some of his and I noticed on mine also, emailed them and they sent new ones out right away great company.

I have a few cornwell ratchets the 30 tooth are tried and true a true work horse

And there extra long combo wrenches are super nice but sadly only available in 8-19mm

Typically offers quality rebranding at much better prices than Matco for same products

And lastly there punches are hard to beat

It's a Golden Boy .22lr

I've never had it out of the safe...never fired. I've been wanting to give it a new home, as I could use the space for a new toy I'm looking at...

Our Cornwell rep. in Virginia was one of the best, if he didn't have it, you got it the next week. Everything on his truck had a price and bar code on it. He would always have some kind of deals week to week. The rep. here in W. Pennsylvania is horrible. Everything in his truck is all over the place, jumbled up on the floor as if he just threw it in a pile.

Seems like most people's preferences on tool truck brands comes more down to the driver / service they get at their particular shop versus the actual tools. I'm sure Cornwell makes nice tools, but I also think there are a handful of other brands (tool truck and none-truck) with similar quality tools. I guess it makes sense because as they say, the truck brand pricing has that service built into the pricing. If you're not getting good service it's not worth the extra money.

This also reminds me of that thread of the guy who started a Cornwell truck and ended up folding it in a year or so and losing tons of money. Not sure what his people skills were like IRL, but he seemed nice enough online, and really got screwed over from both ends. Cornwell had him in pretty deep and by the short and curlies every week to pay for tool orders (while also requiring him to make certain big ticket purchases), and techs had taken advantage on not paid on time for other big purchases. Again I'm sure it's a similar sink-or-swim scenario with all of them, but certainly shed some light on how the tool truck business works.
