I have never really seen many cornwell tools, and the last cornwell truck I have ever seen was about 10 years ago at the shop across the street from my house. So I'm interested to see what kind of Cornwell tools you guys have, and how you feel about them.

I have a few Cornwell ratchets and ratcheting wrenches.

The last 12 ratchets on the right.

I really do like the way the Cornwell's feel in my hand, they work great and I've never once thought they wouldn't last a long time.

Wow, you think you have enough duplicates of the ratchets? lol. Those wrenches and ratchets seem to be really good quality. I do really like the prices of Cornwell tools compared to Snap-on/Matco, but I don't understand why they haven't upgraded to fine-tooth ratchets yet.

Yeah, I need stay away from Ebay for awhile lol. They have a 72 tooth ratchet, but I have yet to see one for sale on Ebay. There is a Cornwell dealer one town over that I keep meaning to get a hold of, but obviously haven't yet.

Just ordered my JR72. My Cornwell dealer had no idea it existed. But then again my Cornwell guy rarely has bsic hard line tools. You need a rebadged gimmic tool he has 10 of each. Ratchets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc not so much. He had 4 ratchets 7 pairs of pliers and 10 loose screwdrivers NO SETS. My Snap-On guy has 5 of everything in the core tools. I wanted to tell my Cornwell guy to go on the Snap On truck and take some notes.

I don't have a lot of Cornwell tools due to them not being available to us poor northerners but I have managed to source a few thanks to a couple of great GJ'ers (Sumner2000 and osbourne.ozzy) also have a jr301 enroute from warmpancakes in the near future.

My convoy of Cornwell ratchets. I do like the way they feel and they are strong. They make the smoothest non fine tooth ratchet in the business.

I will be the first to admit that I am a Snap-On fanboy, BUT I really love the way the Cornwell ratchets look. I say look, b/c I have never seen one in person. I just like the way the lower handle looks.

I would like to pick up a 1/4, 3/8, and a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and see how well they work.

The Cornwell JR72 is the nicest ratchet every produced. However is "unobtanium".

I was in the same boat with a boatload of snappy ratchets. Thought there was none better until I picked up the few Cornwells I have.....now I want more! Mind you, snap on does have a better variety for different jobs and they do work extremely well but i have to say, the jr72 and jrl72 are the finest 3/8 ratchets I've ever used. Wish they made a flex head version.

Very purty :rocker:

@Jawn, those impact sockets, how well do they work? I have always avoided that "star" design.

To be honest, I have used 'em only once since buying 'em a few months back... and then just with a ratchet. It was an opportunistic purchase, but I anticipate getting more use out of 'em in the future. Same with the pipe plug sockets.

What is there in 8pt other than the "star"? Or are you simply referring to the fact that they are 8pt?

How do you like that ratcheting screwdriver? I wanted to see one when it went on sale but like everything else my guy didnt have them. Being a small biz owner myself I try to buy ALL my tools from the 2 truck guys I have. The other happens to be Snap-on. My Cornwell guy makes it tough, oh and my Snap on guy has like 3 of every color ratcheting screwdriver.

The ratcheting screwdriver works well. It's basically the same one that MAC sells but with different grips. I like the Mac a little better because the direction selector is knurled. Cornwell does have a gearless one which I've heard good things about.

Gotcha! And yea I was just talking about 8pt's I guess. I just rarely see them, and the teeth always seem so deep, to the point that it would grab onto the bolt head funny. Is that not the case?

Just got my one lonely little 1/4dr left. Sold off some of my others just because they didn't get used. The ratchets feel great in the hand though. Would def. by more.

One of these days I will have a collection of Cornwell's fine tooth ratchets... The only downside is the mechanism isn't American made. Though I've read that Cornwell will produce the mechanism in the US once that patent has expired...

The socket's points may be a bit less than 90 degrees (or maybe just an optical illusion?) so as to grab more of the side of the fastener. I should round up a big square nut and see. Only thing I've used 'em on is the transmission fill/check plug on my truck... which is a bit mangled from somebody nearly rounding it off with who knows what kind of tool. :lol_hitti

If it was fine tooth, I'd like it more. But still very nice for getting hard to reach stuff after you've broken them loose. If they sold a 72 thumb ratchet, I'd buy it too...

The ratchet driver set is CBSD560S. Normally $105, It was on sale for $75 in March.

^^ Cool thanks. And as I was asking that question, I was hoping it was somewhat fine tooth :(

They are 30 tooth sadly. But they don't have a heavy spring so they are still fairly easy to turn. If you wanted it even softer I'm sure you could clip the spring.
