Bought a used set of Cornwell ratcheting wrenches today. Seem like a really solid set, but I’m not too familiar with Cornwell:

XL length
Flex head on both ends
Reversible, lever is a push button on the side of the head
5 piece metric (8/10, 12/14, 13/15, 16/18, 17/19)
12 point box end extends about 1/4 inch past the chrome head
Slim profile
Plastic case with top missing, still works as a storage tray

Anybody have this set and how have they held up?

I have a set of SK X-Frames, and like the ability to break loose with the open end and then use the ratcheting end to remove without changing wrenches. Won’t have that ability with these obviously.

Let me know any pros/cons in your experience. They were cheap enough to try out without any risk, so you won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t like them.IMG_1330.jpgIMG_1331.jpg

They look like the Mountain wrenches you see on Amazon and eBay. Supposed to be pretty good.

Yeah looks like the Carlyle/Mountain/Kabo wrenches. Hope ya didn't pay markup for Cornwell, that said they're great wrenches. I like mine a lot.

Thanks guys. Yep, maybe not the screaming deal I thought I had, but still about $40 less than a new Mountain set from tooltopia.

I always wondered about XL ratcheting flex wrenches. (If the action and flex joints would handle the obvious abuse they'd get). Nice to hear they are solid.

Are they available individually? The 13 x 15 would be one I'd try and get.

I have the same set but have only used them a few times so I don't know about longevity.

I have that same set. I have had them over a year, used daily without an issue. As mentioned they are identical to Platinum, Mountain etc brands. Only minor annoyance is occasionally during use I accidentally hit the reversing lever.
I bought the Cornwell version for the ease of warranty, most other manufacturers give 1 year or limited lifetime I believe.

Good to know. Do you full on break stuff lose with them? Would assume yes, otherwise defeats the point of the xl length.

I’ve been using mine ******** in the shop! Yes pintail, I full on break stuff loose with them. I second the minor annoyance Barry mentioned. Mine are mountain but branded matco. I just broke my 14mm, which my matco man said is common. He’s replacing it for me. Otherwise I love them and grab for them just about every day! I have a whole set, up through 19mm.
