Well I finally closed on my new house and moved in. It's not big but I finally have a garage and a place to work on the Mustang. Anyways I started off with Rustoleum epoxy shield and clear coat.

Why didn't you paint the walls first before the floor or at least before moving stuff back in against them? Just curious.

As far as the floor, it looks great. Where did you get your product? One of the boxstores? And what prep did you do? The reason I ask is that I really need to do something to my floors this year.

Thanks guys,

I do plan on painting the walls, I'm thinking a light gray base-ford blue strip-white top. I know I should have painted the walls first but that will come later. I picked up the Rustoleum epoxy shield at home depot (the 2 1/2 garage kit) then ordered the clear coat through amazon online.
With the 2.5 car garage kit I used 1.5 of the cans (comes with 2 a+b cans). The clear coat kit was exactly enough for my 19x19. So far I'm satisfied with the product. I can see some roller marks and I missed two small spots doing the clear coat. But with the price I paid (about $230) for both kits and supplies, I'm happy with the results. Now let's see how long she lasts. The prep was easy, just sprinkle the citric acid solution then scrap with a rough brush broom and rinse twice. My concrete is new so I had no degreasing or stains to remove. I definitely recommend epoxy and clear coat for your garage floor.

I should be able to get the Mustang in the garage on Friday. Directions say to wait 4 days for the clear coat to cure. Anybody guess how many gallons of paint I'll need to paint the walls?

Good eye on the Moser axle box. Once the floor is ready the 5 lug/rear disc swap begins on the fox.

Thanks guys

Here she is in her new home. I did some more organizing and added the pegboard. I start tearing apart the fox tomorrow morning, should be fun!

Got meat and potatoes done on the front for the 5 lug swap. Also built a shelf on my pegboard wall. Here's a pic of the 5 lugs!

DSC00238-1.jpg

Went smoothly except somebody gorilla wrenched the bottom strut bolts on there. BOTH sides. Took a while to get them off with my electric impac. Now I'm thinking of going out and getting an air compressor and some air tools.

Waiting on some new rotors then I'll put on the 00' GT dual piston calipers.

I have a simialr Moser box sitting in my garage. Now that you made the switch to 5 lug, what wheels are you putting on it ?

Don't you love that gear oil smell ?

I'm stuck between black w/polished lip and anthracite bullitt's. 17x8 up front, 17x9 in the back. The 17x9 cobra R's rubbed up front so I'm hoping the 17x8's will cure that.

That's a good looking four eye and sweet garage by the way. Post some pics of the fox. Are you switching to 5 lug? Let me know how your swap is going or went. I have not taken the rear end apart yet. Hopefully today I'll finish up the front.

I've got AIR!

DSC00243.jpg

Been looking for a reason to pick up an air compressor and some air tools for years now. SO I gave up on the electric impact and picked up a 20 gallon Craftsman and Craftsman 1/2 impact. Compressor came with a kit so I'm good to go. Lower strut bolts came off a lot easier with the air impact. I need to find some good storage ideas jacks and find something to hang the air hose on.

Ah so that's the hurry on the walls, had to work on the car! :bounce:

Nice job getting things in place. Get the walls set soon as you can before you really start packing in stuff. Take it from me, it's a little bit of a pain to have to go back and do them again

The wheels, I like the black. But the silver ones have a pretty classic look. Either set would look good. Have you photoshopped each to the car to see?

Oh and congrats on the new house!

Those Bullitt style rims would look sweet. I'd go the silverish color as black will be too dark. I'm currently Mustang-less but I've got a nice boosted Marauder for a daily driver.

Yea you guessed it, I've been waiting to tear this car apart for a while now. The paint can wait, but I not too long. I got a few more projects I need to get done for the new house before I can paint the garage. I'm really torn on the Bullitts, I really like both. Silver is classic but the black w/polished lip would look great too. I really like those Marauders, Let's see some pics.

Here's a pic of the PBR dual piston brakes on the fox. These are huge compared to the stock garbage. The old flexible to hard brake line connection is giving me some trouble on the passenger side. Once I get that off then the front is done. I started on the rear end, got the axle shafts off and now trying to get the brake lines off the drums with out braking the hard lines.

Good luck with the brake lines. Rusty fox body brake lines inspired me to buy a good dual flaring tool. Its easier to cut the end, flare, and reinstall sometimes.

Here's a few pics:

That's a beautiful car man. What's the details on the engine? blown 4.6? Looks great and fun to drive, nice daily. I got the driver side rear line off. Its both the passenger side lines are giving me hell. Is it possible to cut off and flare the line while it's still in there?

Its a 03 Cobra block, .010 over, everything balanced to the gram, ported and polished heads, intake, and supercharger, 17lbs of boost. Its pretty fun, lol.

If you have room, you can cut and flare the line. I usually replace the rear lines on the axle because they are rusty and won't come free of the wheel cylinders. The front line is fun because its pretty long and not very easy to get free. If you bend it out a little, you will have enough room to flare it. Just remember to put the fitting on before flaring the line.

Wow yea that sounds like a lot of fun!

I got the drivers side rear line off. Came off easy, its just both passenger side lines are being a real pain. I'm gonna mess with them a little more. I really don't want to cut the lines but it looks like it's coming down to it. Thanks for the advice.

Two things, one, you're gonna come to hate that air compressor! Good thing it is on wheels b/c you're going to learn it needs to be outside the garage when it is running. I know, I have the same one!!!! But it's a must and it'll be VERY handy.

Two, since when did Fox body 'stangs become collector cars? I've had my eye out for a '91-'92 5.0 (any style but GT, preferably convertible or coupe) and the prices are outrageous! I may have to start looking at 4-cyl ones and just drop in a new mod motor.

Congrats on the new house and the garage. Looks great!

That is why I went with Husky one. Made by IR and oil cooled. Yes, I have to change the oil on it, but can have a conversation in front of the thing while its going. My neighbor has one like you have. I can hear it 2 house down across the street! But they sure are handy.

The garage and stang are looking good. I'd paint it before its to fully with stuff!

Yeah, you'll definately appreciate your new "real" brakes after rolling around on the stock Fox stuff. I know my PBRs were a huge improvement over stock. Just in case you want to upgrade....
http://www.buyfordracing.com/produc...ION-BULLITT-MUSTANG-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPERS.html

Are you upgrading the booster too?

HA! why did you show me that link. That is a great deal deal. I just recently heard about these bullitt calipers. Do they go on the stock 11" rotor? or do they use a 13" cobra rotor?

I've got a 94/95 v6 booster and master cylinder I plan on putting in. But I'm going to see how the stock fox booster/mc work out. I've heard of people getting good results with the 94/95 mc on the fox booster. I need to do some more research.

Yes the air compressor is loud. But it's tolerable for me. I'm just happy to have a good set of air tools now.

I wouldn't call a fox body "collectable" yet but nice ones are becoming rare. The ones you find are either beat up or taken care of and the seller knows it so the price is high.

Lol, it was just a teaser. Yep, they require the 13" rotors but would (will) bring your Fox to a hault in a hurry. I don't have the Bullitts, just the normal Cobras, but they function the same. Basically just a different paint job. I'm running the stock booster w/ a SN95 mc & it works well.

I'd like to get those calipers but that means I need bigger rotors up front (just bought new ones all around). I'm gonna stick with the PBR's for now. I'm glad to hear you have good results with the fox booster and sn95 mc. I was hoping I did not have to change the booster out. Seems like a PIA. Post some pics of the fox man, I like the two tone paint scheme.

Yeah, those brakes will serve you better than the stockers. I've gotta say, I'm with nathank on the wheels though. The bullitts are cool but have been beaten to death over the last 10+- yrs., from Foxes, to SN95s to Edges. It's really hard to put an "original" wheel on a Fox but at least now you have many more options.
Thanks man, here you go...

Yea I hear people say that about bullitt's all the time. Its IMPOSSIBLE to put a truly original wheel on a fox. But out of all the wheels out there I think bullitts look the best on a fox. These new FR500's are growing on me, but it's hard to get away from the traditional 5 spoke design. I placed the order for my Anthracite bullitt's today! T that is a beautiful fox, nothing like a blown fox! Pursue, that's a clean GT, very cool that you kept you first car. My first was an 87 GT with t-tops. I miss it a lot, should have never sold it.

I do feel bad, this is a garage forum NOT a mustang forum. I've kind of wandered off the path lately. Guess I need to get some painting done while I'm waiting on some parts to come in.

I need another fox, but the next one I get will be a running driving car. The last 5 I've owned were project cars. If I can find a buyer for the Marauder, I'd like to buy a 2011 GT but its not looking to promising.
