Don't sell the Marauder man, you don't see those on the road often. The roads are clogged with new mustangs. In my opinion don't sell a toy to get another toy, Just save up. A good stockish somewhat low mileage fox (60-90K) can be found for 5-6K if you search hard enough. It took me 3 or 4 months of hard searching to find mine.

<----- '88 GT checking in!
See! Ha.
Bryan-
It's cool that you scored a fairly stock Fox.. that's hard to do in FL. They've all been cut up/modded pretty hard. And, as for the wheels, the bullitts do look good, they're just everywhere. It is hard to be original w a Fox.
I got this car from a female owner. Heck, this is our 5th Fox & it was the 1st time I'd ever seen the stock air silencer.
So much Fox talk... You getting anything done on your garage??

HA Post some PICS!

I actually found this mustang in mountains of NC a year ago (just moved down here to FL from NC). No more work done on the garage. Except for a cool looking old school chrome/light up neon mustang clock. I'd like to spend the money and paint the walls but heads/cam/intake swap sounds like a lot more fun :) Plus I'd like to get all this time consuming car stuff done before the fiance and kids move down here after school ends.

My first was an 87 GT with t-tops. I miss it a lot, should have never sold it.

Man, I feel ya. My first one was a 88LX T-top. I WISH I never would have sold it. 87-88 t-tops are hard to come by now. I still have an extra set of t-tops in my attic even though I don't have the car. Maybe I will sell them on Ebay in 30 years for 10k ;)

To add insult to injury the car is still around my town and I see it often. The new owners stripped the whole car of interior, glass, AC, heat, everything. They put a carbed motor and plexi windows, and painted it flat black. It's a pure track car now and it makes me sick!

Ha, I'd have to did through my boxes of OE stuff that never found their way back on to the car. I vaguely remember what it looks like. Man, the only OE parts under my hood are the PS pump, AC comp & timing cover. I'm sure I'll look back in 20 yrs & wish I'd left it stock.
Yeah man, I feel your struggle, finish the car or finish the garage. The way I look at it, neither of them will ever truly be finished. So, get your garage to point where you can wrench then tear in to your engine! Just my .02. Cool thing about FL is you can drive all yr long so you don't have to worry about missing driving time!

UPDATE

Picked up a old craftsman 7 drawer chest. Degreased then cleaned it up and put some new grease on the drawer coasters. My little 4 drawer just couldn't cut it anymore. Also found an old shop light at the same yard sale. Put some new bulbs in and it works great. Got them both for $40. "borrowed" a wall locker from work to hold some parts and other random stuff.

Here's the new bullitt's on the fox :)

Some goodies came in the mail!

DSC00265.jpg

Trickflow 170's, TF stage 2 cam, 1.6 rockers, and TF upper/lower intake. Lots of other stuff in the wall locker, new lifters, water pump, gaskets, etc...

Those extra t tops will be worth $$$$ later on down the line. It's a shame to do that to a nice fox. Seems common around here. Call me an A$$ but I can't stand those rednecked junk foxes. I can understand leaving a fox stock if it's a low mileage jem, but that's no fun. Pretty much done with the 5 lug/rear disc swap. Just got to finish up the parking brake modification, bleed the brakes, and double check torque specs then HOPEFULLY I can take her for a spin next week.

I got some over spray on the new floor when I was painting the rear axle. I'm thinking of mixing in some paint thinner/water when I get the car out (hopefully this week). Would this be a bad idea for the epoxy/clear coat?

Nice score. All that stuff should make the car a little faster. Off topic, in 2 days I'll be the proud owner of a 87 LX hatchback. 5.0, auto, 141k miles, pretty straight car. For $2k I'd say it was worth it.

Congrats on the go fast parts man. They should help get your LX from point A to point B a little quicker.

As for the overspray... dunno. I don't have any epoxy floor, but if I did, I'd be willing try mineral spirits on it. Might try acetone?? Maybe one of the epoxy guys will chime in.

Congrats on the mustang score drew, I hope the deal went down good. I'm a sucker for pics so post some up when you get a chance. I hope you didnt' have to part with the Marauder too!

Went to bleed the brakes and one of the brake lines that I double flared leaked... SO I picked up pre flared line and will bend it and put it in today hopefully. Everything else went well so hopefully I'll be able to take her out for a spin and clean up the garage floor. I'm going to try some watered down acetone or paint thinner first I'll let you know how it goes.

The guy couldn't find the title but had one express shipped from the DMV. Looks like we're on for Tuesday. I'll get pics when I can.

Update

Here is some new additions to the garage. A new parts washer and beer fridge!

Finished up the 5 lug/rear disc conversion on the Fox yesterday

And I'm the new happy owner of this beauty! 1966 Mustang

I won it on Ebay yesterday and it's being shipped from CA. Once it gets here to FL I'll post up some more pics.

No paint on the walls, I think I'm giving up on that. Too many projects going on now. I am going to get a 20x20 garage built in the backyard to store the other Mustang. That's about it for now. Got a bunch of other engine/suspension goodies to put on the Fox this winter.

Update on the garage

db86f49f.jpg

I finally found some time to start painting. I've got one side done so far. I went with antique white with a black stripe. The stripe isn't perfect but it's good enough for me.

A new 18x20 garage I had built in my backyard. It's storage for one of the Mustangs and yard tools, lawn mower, camping stuff, kids bikes, etc. More pics to follow on that one. It's made by Carolina Carports. Quality is great.

And of course an update on the Mustangs

I swapped out the magnums for 17" Torque thrust II's.

Trick Flow heads, cam, and intake almost finished up on the fox.

And I started my own powder coating. Here's my first two pieces, the water neck and timing pointer off the fox. I did them in black wrinkle.

I need to make a better coating booth now. This one was temporary. Any ideas? I'm going to do a search on here.

I used to build models back in the day and I made a paint booth out of MDF and a bathroom exhaust fan. I'm sure you could do the same for powder just on a larger scale.

Side note, the 87 GT I bought has turned out to be a nightmare. It was really a 89 LX 4 cylinder swap and was half assed at best. I'm going through it trying to un-f^&* everything. In the process, the Marauder sold and I bought a sweet all stock 94 Cobra.

How about finding a 1 piece fiberglass shower stall ? May be cut it off at about the 3'-3.5' mark. Make a top for it that would include a fan.
