Correct way to rotate tires

hey all, I finally obtained proper FSM pics for my car,

shows how to jack up the vehicle using a floor jack. And it shows it is OK to put jackstand along the sides. fairly clear..

Warnings

Be sure to support the specified locations only. Otherwise, deformation of vehicle may occur.

Be careful to avoid damage to the side sill garnish.

If rubber attachments with grooves that are too thick are used at the front support positions, the front fender may become bent, so be sure to use rubber attachments with groove thicknesses of 18 mm or less.

If attachments which are not high enough are used, they may damage areas such as the side step. Be sure to use attachments which are high enough, or remove the side step if not using attachments.

So my question is to put the vehicle up all 4 off tires the ground, is this correct way

1) jack up front, place 2 jackstand under the front notches, remove jack
2) jack up rear, place 2 jackstands under the rear notches, remove jack.


Also I don't have the fancy stands with rubber pads, so would regular jackstands be fine.

I have done it that way on my previous cars but they already had crushed jackstand points along the sides, now on this new car even after the dealer have serviced it I see some slight deformation around the notches, I don't get it...

After reading the manual.
It says to cross rotate if the tires are not directional, I guess I will do that.

I put the front ones under the frame just aft of the front wheels & the rear stands under the axle.

For my FWD cars I usually just slap a pair of new tires on the front and move the old front ones to the back. Repeat when the back ones finally get too worn.

For a 4 tire rotation: Chock enough wheels for safety. Jack up one rear wheel, remove tire, put spare on with2 lug nuts to hold it, lower car, go to front tire, jack up, remove front tire, put former rear tire on front. Jack up rear wheel, remove spare, put former rear tire on. Repeat on other side.

This way there are no decisions concerning locations for jack stands, no problems jacking complete car up at one time, Probably less time spent this way than getting jackstands out, etc.

I use the spare as well, it is just easier and faster than messing with jack stands. Plus, it is a good opportunity to top off the air in the spare while you've got it out.
