Got an estimate yesterday to install a concrete walkway just under 500 sq ft worth. The walk is being installed in the backyard so they will need to use their bucket loader to bring the concrete from the street to the backyard.

Estimate was $3K, which does not seem unreasonable to me, but just wanted to pressure test that with the experts.

Seems a little on the steep side to me. They're charging $6.00 a square foot. Shouldn't be any more than $4-$4.50 a square foot and that is on the pricy side.

Pretty close to an estimate I just had for 450 sq ft of a walkway and patio. Prices were from $2400 to $6100, with $2700 being my preferred contractor.

I see...nice. Going to make it a pebble aggregate finish so it will blend in to the landscape better ?

He''s pretty close. $4 ft on sidewalks it had better be easy and straight with road access, and there had better be a bunch of it.

Curved forming, a bit of slope, difficult access?

I'd guess that might add a little bit extra to the overall cost. Unless the guy is building his own forms, making a lot of kerf cuts, he might be renting some forms to make the curves. That would bump the cost a bit.

I had 150' x 12' drive along with 32' x 70' pad poured totaling a little over 4,000 sq. ft it cost me $11,000 and it is the best work I have seen in a while. Located in SW Michigan.

I think for that job, that sounds reasonable. If it was a straight level walkway out front, I would have shopped around for cheaper.

Wow in the DC area I recently received two quotes for a 680 sq ft driveway: both right around $10,000!

11,000 for 6x as much concrete sounds pretty good to me :)
