Cost for a professionally done epoxy job ?

For those that have hired professionals to do a 100% solids epoxy with full broadcast of flakes, what are you guys paying per sqft?

I have a 1,700 sqft garage and would like to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks

It will typically run in the neighborhood of $4 - $5 per square foot depending on the materials and local competition. Watch out for the guys that only use two coats total in order to low ball the competition.

In addition, keep in mind there are companies that only do polyurea polyaspartic garage floor coatings as well. These are not epoxy and generally cost $1 - $2 per square foot more.

I had a contractor verbally quote me $7.50 / ft - and this person was recommended by ArmorPoxy. If this is the going rate in my area (Stamford, CT) then I am going with Porcelain Tile. I can find a nice tile for $2 / ft and then I have someone to install for $5 / ft - so $7 all-in.

Not a bad idea actually. It might be a cheaper route once you realize you don't have to acid wash the concrete as well.

I am not sure what the prep is for porcelain tile. There must be something you need to do to the concrete before you lay the porcelain tile down.

I don't think any... the slab is brand new and smooth. When my tile guy did my basement floor, he needed to use self-leveling cement because it wasn't flat. This doesn't apply to my garage slab because it was poured to certain pitch specifications.

Not bad if it includes the grinding as well. I think to do it right it's less back breaking to just let a reputable professional do it. Too many guys want to say DIY and then complain 6mo later when it's chipping.

$4.50-$6 a sq ft in Minnesota depending on if its a 2 coat epoxy top coat or a 2 coat polyaspartic top coat. Includes diamond prepping the slab. Most of your high grade resin manufactures will not warranty the project without a mechanical grind.

$5 a sqft to lay simple tile? Holy ****, the tile setters must all drive excalades.

I've never seen a tile setter make more than a couple bucks a square foot unless they are doing something really tricky.

I paid $4.00 sqft including stem wall and mechanical grind for full flake in Scottsdale. Looks great but still smells.
