Hi,

I thought I had asked this in another thread but couldn't find it...and maybe it's in a thread done by someone else (didn't look for that but will soon...)

Is there any general estimate as to the cost of electrical supplies for a garage by sq ft. (100 amp service coming from the house if it makes a big difference...about a 65' run of wire from the box in the house to the garage)? Something like it's typically $25 per square foot...something like that? I'm sure things can vary widely...just trying to get a rough idea...just trying to budget a bit but won't have to figure in labor as I will be doing the electrical work myself with an electrician buddy telling my the what/when/where and how...

Thanks,
Patrick

per sq/ft is meaningless since it cant consider how many receptacles you are installing, what type of lighting, etc. Anywhere from $500 to $50,000.

Hi

I figured as much...looking for kind of a middle of the road guestimate for a "typical" garage...nothing fancy...'bout 1200 sq ft with 2 garage doors (openers not included)...

I have all mine in cndt, if you want to do the same list the amt of cndt you are going to use, I put a duplex every 10' that way I'm no more than 5' from one, I have 3 legs of duplexes, one leg of 220 for welder and lifts, ceiling lights... switches..Breaker box, breakers (all mine are ground fault bought at big discount on ebay) get the pic, make a list of total feet of cndt, amt of boxes, duplexes, switch plates, switches, lights, wire, clamps. my 220 is in 3/4 cndt due to gage.. draw a pic to help yourself out.
