What would I expect to pay per Sq/FT in Connecticut?

I am looking for what would be reasonable for a stick built garage, unfinshed on the inside, including foundation. I have one estimate allready and the guy is well recomended. I would just like to now whether the price is in the ball park or way out of line. I did search on the forum but with the ecomomy I figured prices from a year ago are a little high.

im not sure of exactly how much a sf you'd be looking at but we just completed a 32x48 stick built in central ct with a fully finished second floor for around 150$ a sf. the concrete worked out to about 10$ a sf and the framing worked out to about 12$ a sf.

I'm confused. I have been looking in to building an 18x30 and am being told concrete alone is $7500-$8000. I have a quote for $8500 to stick build, so total cost should be $16,500 (Despite the very high quotes i've gotten from contractors). At $150 per sq, I should be paying $8100 for the entire job? Or am I horrible at math?
This means i'm paying $150 per sq just for framing/finishing, with no concrete.

When I built my house 5 years ago in CA, my concrete was $6.50 a SF, 4000 SF custom home = 26000.00. Looking at building a steel building around 1500 SF and getting quotes of $5.00 a SF = 7500.00.

18 x 30 = 540 SQ/FT

$16,500 / 540 = $30.55 per SQ/FT

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Including foundation for a 30x50x14 Steel Building in CA, I'm looking at $21.00 per SF. That includes the building (all galvanizes steel beams), concrete, electrical, erecting, 2 coil up doors, 1 12x12, 1 10x12, walk in door, roof insulation, painted exterior and roof.

Ok down to brass tacks. I have an estimate for $18k for a 14 x 26 garage including concrete, wood siding, and removal of existing shed and concrete slab. How does this sound?

Sounds like $49.45 per sq.
I would assume wood siding is more expensive than vinyl.

Don't sound bad. My Dad built a 26x26 with 2 10ft doors last year. Did all the work himself other than hired a guy to help with the slab and he said it was right around 10k.

I am in the middle of my 30x36 build and currently have the footers and knee walls up, waiting on the slab since the weather is ****. I am located in the lower left corner of CT and my concrete work is about $14k and needed $5k in excavation work. I am using some over spec for the slab and walls but nothing crazy. OH and insulating the slab cost a few grand for the work and materials alone.

what? dont shoot the messenger haha, those are the numbers that came out of that project...obviously the 150$ a sf doesnt apply to his project but the framing and concrete numbers do somewhat...although the framing included a second story with dormers and other details that drove up the cost.
