I found only 2 costcos left in San Diego that had them. Chula Vista on H street and Lemon Grove. The price is now $89.

Im now in the Arcan club. Im so excited! This jack is by far the best built jack with the most features that I could find for <$200 available anywhere.

Im impressed with the zerk fittings, extra seal kit provided and the stoutness of the unit. Hopefully, this will last alot longer than the aluminum jack I had for only 3 years with regular maintenance.

If anyone considering getting one, you better grab one. The costco item is # 300930 - supplies are getting thin. Who knows if its coming back?

Call your local costco or go in there - give them the item number and they can search all the warehouses and tell you where to find it. Thats how I located the warehouse 50 miles away that had em. If you cant find it or your time is worth more to you, you can always order it from northerntool.com (or pick one up at your local store if you have one). Not as good of a deal, but not bad either. Good luck. I was in your shoes 24 hours ago!

Just called my local Kansas City costco and they're supposed to get 1200 at the warehouse on the 7th of Nov. He said they should be in stores by the 8 or 9th.

In case anyone missed it earlier. The item number is 300930.

Fot those with the 'squealing' sound from the Costco Arcan.

It's a adjustment only... contact the manufacturer and they will send you a 'service bullitin' instruction to correct the squeal. Or, ask to be lead through the process while on the phone as I did.

There are two 'bleeder' screws under the cover in the back of the jack over the pistons. The adjustment has to do with bleeding off the piston that acts as the 'fast lift' when not under load. Will take you < ten minutes to adjust and the jack will be perfect.

Hope this helps you...

Can you explain the procedure with more detail? How do you adjust or bleed off the piston?

Coming from someone who understands the workings of Most Hydraulic jacks regardless of Brand, Quick Lift or whatever. There is no bleeding of the piston or whatever they called it... Generally on the TaiwChinese quicklift jacks there are 2 valves, 1 is the quick lift and the other is Low side. My guess is the squeal was coming from the High side spring tension being set to tight and the cheap valve system was having a hard time determing what side to use at the correct moment. So the sqeal was actually oil pressure lifting the Low side valve ball and bypassing under the load. Im guessing there instructions where to either back the quick lift side off or tighten the low side down a bit or maybe a combination of both.

Not knowing a lot about different floor jacks I have question for those that have the Arcan xl35R jack. Sometimes I need to jack the car relatively close to a garage wall (flat tire, etc.) and I was wondering with this jack can the handle be placed relatively vertical and rotated down say 45 degrees and lift the car ? is the pressure fully engaged with the handle at approximately vertical ? Tough to tell from the Arcan website. Obviously not efficient but in an emergency needs to be done.
For my limited use this jack should be sufficient

Going out of town (jack is $95 in New Jersey) for the holidays and have the oppurtunity to hit Costco since none are located in my part of New York state.

Thanks in advance guys

I used to live out in your neck of the woods. Did you call the flagship store in Kirkland? Between that one and the one in Issaquah, you might find one.

Yep, I just tried it and it jacks fine (albeit slow) with partial movements at any starting location. Remember too that it has a 2-piece handle that may allow you to have full strokes as well.

mustangcrazy77,

Thanks for checking that out for me. If that is the case sounds like I will be picking one up next week if in stock of course. Thanks again.

No Costco where I live, but we have a Northern Tool which is where I got mine. It's black. Talked to the store and they match online sales prices in the store. If it's out of stock in the store you can get it shipped to the store at no charge for shipping.

I also have the squeal on the black one form northern tool.... No R designation on the end of mine... You think the R just stands for RED?

Do Arcan jacks leak? I know I can return it to Costco if it leaks but it is over 100 lbs. It's an item that is a pain to return.

I know nothing about the jack, Only what ive read here at GJ. I know there was a issue with a annoying squeal that some members have been able to remedy and others couldnt. Im sure with its price point that it uses Orings for sealing surfaces and like all new Imports there will be some hit and miss concerning leakage and durability.

Monte,

my Acran is fine. Great jack for the money. Never saw such a good value here in Germany.

i've had mine for a little more than a year, used once a week if that. it's already starting to drop the load slowly. i haven't really looked into bleeding it or anything yet. i'll check it out and if i can't fix it easily, i'll just return it or exchange it. they're still selling them.

I doubt its a Air problem if its dropping under load, I fear all the Arcan bandwagon jumpers will eventually have problems like this in the near future. I would try to exchange it immediately and give it another shot.

i think i'm just going to return it and get my $100 back and buy a HW 93642. i'd rather buy one jack and use it for a decade, than a piece of junk i gotta return every year.

Just bought the Arcan 3.5XL jack from Costco. Lifted my Yukon XL and Chevy K10 Pickup easily. No squeeling like some people have experienced. Manual says to lubricate certain parts before using. Those parts where already lubed..
