These are some of the better cheap **** LED fixtures.

Buy a few for temp use or over a workbench. Great for an extra light over a tool or work area that you turn on with a pull chain for extra light but not continuous use.

But understand these are task lighting. They have cords and pull chains. When you start buying a bunch or hard wiring them in, these are the wrong lights.

Won't even last as long as good T8 fluorescent tubes.

Start using these 10 hours a day and they are pretty much done in 3 years.
Great for what they are and good deal at $20 but understand what they are and what they are not.

I have had 3 now fail within a year of use. All three one of the bulbs started flickering.

I had a couple fail but:
5-year warranty and Costco has liberal return policy
If you use the Citi card then they extend the warranty another year.
For stuff like this I make a copy of the receipt and tape it to the light. Costco doesn't actually require the receipt but it makes it easier.

Costco is one of the easiest stores to return broken items to even years later :D

I have 8 of these lights in my shop. The other day I went out flipped the switch and heard a loud pop. I looked up and the last 2 lights in a run of 4 were out and I could smelled burning electrical. So i unpluged the lights from the working ones. Only 1 of the 2 went bad. Good news is Feit says they will refund me has those were a special run for Costco. Bad news is Costco does not have them any longer  so it looks like I'm going to be putting up all new lights which *****

I have 8 of these installed on the side walls and they provide great light. I purchased remote control outlets so when I walk into my shop I disarm the alarm system and hit the All On button on the remotes. Lights are split into 2 sides with a remote for each side. They work great so far.

They are available in white as well...

If you purchase on Amazon, you can get a 3 year Square Trade replacement plan for $1.41. No brainer.

LOL I just bought one of these marketed as a Christmas tree controller at HD yesterday for $5, down from $20. We actually ARE using it for a string of lights in the house, so I didn't read specs on max amp capacity or anything. I don't expect it to last forever and I wouldn't have paid retail of $20 but for $5 I'm willing to give it a shot. Plugged it in this morning and it works (shrug)

Thank you. The M3 is actually for sale if you know anyone interested. 2012 convertible, fully loaded 414HP V8 with DCT 7 spd. It is space gray with the bamboo leather interior. PM me for details if you know of anyone.

Thanks!

with costco....if you save your receipt....can you return these if they fail inside of 5 years? I have tested these 4k lights against some 5k Sunco lights i got on amazon and the 5k light is way to harsh on my eyes and makes all colors appear washed out. I have really low ceilings (7ft) so that is probably part of it. The sunco mounting system was junk as well. These were superior in every way although the actual fixture was the exact same thing. I think the suncos have a 7 year warranty which is nice...but these are cheaper, provide better light imo, easier to hang, have a better cord for my application but i am questioning the longevity. I guess i i wont know until i get past the 5 year mark. I figure after 5 years or 7 years of the suncos my corneas would be burnt out so it wont matter either way if they still work. My vote is for these all day long. At this price, you can get a few extras too if costco drops them like they frequently do.

i know this is an old thread but it seems like the best place to get help. I have about 10 of these in my garage and about 15 in my basement. Suddenly all of them in my garage have a slight flicker, I cant figure out what would cause it in the garage but not the basement.

Any ideas?

"IF" all the lights are "flickering" the problem is most likely a loose splice connection, bad switch or faulty circuit breaker. I suggest replacing (or jumping) the switch first and see if that helps...... I assume that all these lights are connected to one switch and are on the same circuit.

yes, one switch same circuit. I just replaced the switch and no change. My thought is something is causing interference but i dont know what would do that.

Assuming the garage and the basement are on the same electrical panel, the problem should be between the panel and the first light in the garage.

Ground, hot, neutral. Somewhere there is a problem.

Since all of them flicker in the garage, I would look at the wiring between the switch and the first light.

As another poster suggested, remove the switch and hot wire (jumper) the switch. Since you replaced the switch, it will still probably flicker.

Keep us posted.

OK! Try to find the "first" device on the circuit and check for a loose connection on the receptacle or splice....... Also torque up all neutral screws inside the panel.
I am 90% positive that you have a loose connection somewhere and these "may" be hard to find so don’t give up.

BTW! I have along with others have not had a problem like this on their Costco fixtures.

Justb giggles have you tried a lead cord from a different circuit? What about removing the first light in the daisy chain? Maybe that one has problems.

I thinking this afternoon that one fixture with a "bad driver" could be affecting the others....... I suggest that you unplug ALL of them and then re-plug them in one at a time and see what happens. This will make sense "IF" you have them all daisy chained together.

A “bad driver” will make LED bulbs flicker and the bulb or fixture is NOT repairable...... If you have a bad fixture from Costco, you can return it.

That was my next thought. My garage walls are white and the ceiling is white. I cant say for sure if they are all flickering or one is and its causing them all to flicker. My is to unplug them all and plug them one in at a time until it starts again. might not do it for a week or two cold here in Cincinnati and i have to pull everything outside to do it.

Thanks.

Mine are not daisy chained i installed receptacles on the ceiling. I have not tried them from a different circuit yet.

alright, i was going to wait for a nice day but i decided today was nice enough.

Turns out other lights in the hose were flickering. I dont spend enough time in the pantry, kitchen or laundry room but my wife said they were flickering as well. Pantry had a bad bulb so i replaced them both and I went ahead and did the laundry room as well. BTW i have leds in the entire house.

So onto the garage, i did what was suggested previously and unhooked them all and plugged in one by one. They all flicker. long story short anything on that circuit flickers.

So i opened the switch and i hooked the wires going from the switch to the garage lights to a different circuit and no more flicker on any garage light. so i put it all back together and i started looking for something on the circuit that would cause this. So far everything i unplugged didnt change anything, such as i have some remote outlets for under cabinet lighting and I have my wife and cable modem on that same circuit.

She says the flickering in the the other rooms is barely noticeable, especially where i replaced the bulbs. i think what i am going to do next is replace the breaker for that circuit.

Worst comes to worst i could run the garage lights onto a circuit in my basement which woudnt be that difficult.

Thanks

Good luck with finding the problem. I'll be interested in what the problem is. Older house?

house was built in 2014, i posted this question in another forum and one suggestion was to swap the breaker to the other side of the phase. I ll do that in a bit and report back.

If you have a problem throughout the house you may have a power company problem....... EG: Heavy inductive load from a neighbor, loose connection, under voltage, etc.

Try turning off ALL the circuit breakers except the ones for the LED lighting circuit and see if the problem still exists........ If it does you "may" have a power company problem.

30 years ago I was called out for a power problem and I found that when a service station two doors down had a big *** compressor that was "browning out" the utility line...... 108 volts until the compressor kicked on and the power would dip to 96 volts.

it is only that circuit, i have leds throughout the entire house and no problems. that is a good idea about turning off all the other circuits except that one though.

I think i found the problem which seems kind of obvious now. loose neutral wire.

i was following Chuckster in NJ suggestion by turning off all the breakers but that one and that didnt fix it. I was talking to my electrician buddy about my next step and he said check for loose wires in the panel. So then i though damn if that neutral is loose that might be my problem.

So i traced it down and sure as **** the neutral was loose. The thread on the bolt was messed up so i could pull it out but it wouldn't tighten all the way. So i moved it to a different spot on the bus and so far so good it seems to be working.

Why this started now, i have not been in that panel for well over a year maybe two.

thank you everybody for your help.

The "fix" was in my post #260...... "Check ALL connections in the panel including the neutrals." :lol_hitti

BTW! Happy you found the problem!

In my area, they're $26ish. Are they cheaper at other Costcos? Seems like they've been expensive for quite a while, and I bought some Harbor Freight Braun brand ones but they have to be suspended 2" below, and I want to fix these to my rafters securely. Plus they plug into each other.

They go on sale from time to time. I've seen them for $18 before, but the regular price is about $27 or so.

Normally mid $20's around here, anything below $20 is a good deal IMO.

But since this original post lots of competitors have emerged, not sure on quality or warranty like Costco offers, but certainly specs and price can be matched.

Amazon is selling off-brand fixtures for around $5 a piece when purchasing in quantity. I have no experience with or knowledge of the quality.
