Picked up this table at Costco today for $124. Is there any reason it would not make a good welding table?

Kinda depends on what you are welding. It would probably be fine for some detail-type welding, but for my welding needs I need a table with a macho vise, lots of hold-downs, and sturdy enough that I can really pound and beat on it, clamp stuff down to it, heat and cut on it. and twist and bend stuff on it.

But none the less, it is a nice looking table!

I'd keep the table nice by putting a piece of steel plate on it for welding. I don't know the properties of your SS, but steel will be a good ground whereby you only need to clamp to the plate. This helps me with quite a few of the things I put together not having the clamp right on the work.

it will work fine, the shop I hang out at has an old resturant ss table been lot of stuff welded on it. it also doubles as the lunch table, BS table and beer holder
