I’m hoping for some one with some experience with unisaw. I got a seems to be a mid early 70s 34-461. it had a motor cobbled in some how. It wasn’t pretty. but it was 200$ so I took it.
it did come with the original 5 hp motor. ( if I read the plate correctly). It was crunchy when turning the shaft.
I noticed a little play in the blade rising shaft hand wheel. Everything else looked to be in good shape.
upon disassembly. When I removed the elevation shaft this came out With the shaft.
looking at it it seems to be a bushing and a coupler. I don’t see anything that hols this in. There is some friction but it is easily removed by hand.
I look up the parts ( several places) they show a completely different setup. They show a angle pointer and coupler as one piece with two screws and the bushing pressed into the trunion.( I don’t have these holes) My angle pointer is a different piece all together. You can see it mounted separately from the coupler.
question???
anyone see this setup before? Am I missing a piece to hold this in? I don’t see a set screw or any staking marks. I don’t think it’s held in by the wheel.
any help would be welcome.

I was thinking it was some custom repair… but it doesn’t have the holes for the other mount Tapped into the trunion. It’s got to be original..
