Removed this for a customer where I service their commercial refrigeration. Been out of commission for decades. I didn't have the heart to scrap it so this is what I came up with.

It was literally 2 late nights after work. No paint. Cant believe how well it cleaned up w/ purple power and a power washer. A little upset that the purple power took the paint off of the data tag. Oh well

Is that a Lehigh comprssor?

Every small store meat case had one of those units. The compressor was also used on some '50s car ACs

Very cool - open intended!

Just curious as I know zip, zilch, zero about refrigeration nor AC but could that have been made to work again? I ask because I see "restored" refrigerators back to the 1930's(?) that have been made to work.

I assume so. the compressor was seized but I imagine could have been rebuilt. Not sure if the motor works. Its 3 phase so I couldn't even run it unless I put a vfd on it.
