I've finally burnt through the arm of my beater heated hoodie and need a replacement. Awhile back I went searching online and came across a likely-too-good-to-be-true deal for $40 for a kit.

Still the site looked partially legit and then I was just flat out curious to see what would happen once I saw they take Amex

Anyway months later from China I received a generic black hoodie with just a print of the Milwaukee logo and M12 logo (which should of course be a button). No electrics, nothing.

I'm pretty sure the Chinese just took a photo of the hoodie, tried to make something that looked like it, and thought they could get away with that. I find it very amusing!

Well..technically it's a cordless M12 jacket. No cords needed and it definitely has the M12 badge :lol_hitti

It is heated using your own heat. Those scumbags.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if a language barrier simply led them to believe the "heated" in the product description meant it's a "warm" hoodie.

I do think it's ****** the Chinese try to knock off anything and everything, but I knew this was likely a scam so this time I'm not really upset. I haven't yet contacted Amex but I'm 99.9% sure they'll just refund my $. As much of a balance as I carry with them $40 is nothing.

Since liyson still appears to be around Amex may yet be able to yank it out their merchant account anyhow.

Your suppose to only ****** counterfeit lithium batteries in those jackets. Two in each pocket..........rub them together.........they start on fire.......instant heat.

Two recalled cell phones would work too.........

I was going to say, at least its a wearable shirt. Better than it being some chingdongwong electronics that burst into flames while you're fighting for your milk and eggs on blizzard day.

Id still wear it

I ordered a Small and it's more like Junior by US sizing. That said, it fits my gf except the arms are short. If you push 'em up totally looks normal like you just meant to push your sleeves up so she'll wear it as beater work wear

Am I missing something, I thought 'chindongwong' electrics is what Milwaukee is all about? I thought all the new fancy cordless tools were as Chinese as it gets. Some of my older corded Milwaukee tools are made in 1st world countries. :headscrat

Don't ask.
OP stated
I haven't yet contacted Amex but I'm 99.9% sure they'll just refund my $. As much of a balance as I carry with them $40 is nothing.
So I interpret that as having an amount of debt that he is paying interst on every month.

You stated:

I assumed that you were infering to the OP must have a lot of money.
Reading it again you may have meant that he is loaded with debt.

So my statement. "Probably less than the interest on the Amex balance."
Can be interpreted as: It doesn't take long to pay $40 in interest when carrying a large balance on a credit card.

LOL

I am saying I would never have bought that SweatShirt for $40 no matter how great it is without seeing it from an unknown source....

I would find it amusing, too...

Except for the fact that you paid $40 dollars for a $2 dollar Chinese hoodie.

The way I understand it, because it is counterfeit / not as advertised Amex will give him his money back and go after the vendor. So he'll end up paying $0 and have something to check his oil with.

They DID get away with it. They got your money.

I would honestly contact Milwaukee and send them a link to that site. I wouldnt be surprised if they sent you one for free. I'd say you just figured it was a old model on clearance. Either way I bet they'd appreciate knowing..

I contacted them on Facebook telling them how disappointed I was with "new" heated jackets 2yrs ago maybe, and that I had like 4 or 5 of their other heated products. Like a week or 2 later they messaged me, just asking for my address.. they sent me the 9.0 starter kit back when it was $249..

Milwaukee has always been good about helping loyal customers.

Appearently my union card is of great concern to certain people..

Not with me, it isn't. But, in case you hadn't noticed, here in the magical world of make-believe called "the internet" the only thing worse than "Made-In-China" is American unions. "They" say we are the worst thing to ever happen.

I love how this thread went off the rails. It's just as amusing as the product which inspired me to start the thread.

Truly, thank you all!

The hoodie was $2.00, and the instructions on the tag state it was intended for a snowman. The remaining $38.00 was for the online Chinese to English language translator course that would enable you to read the tag.

LMFAO when you start a thread like this with you inspiration, you'll know how it would end here in GJ. Always COO China problems only... No matter how good a quality of those sweat **** is, comparable to a Name brand fashion ones, regardless if it is a counterfeit or not.... It'll always end up the same.
