Working on lowering the truck the 62’ C10 Stepside, the Farm style bumper had to be replaced. It was in the walkway of the garage when the wife said,” what are you going to do with that?”. Of course, I said - I dun no.
(Wife) Well why don’t you hang it on the wall to replace that boring shelf. What a Great idea! Oh, make sure the license plate light works.

That was just the start of the project.

COUNTERTOP - IT STARTED WITH THE BUMPER! PART 2
(Wife) “Now what are you going to do with those refrigerators and beer bottle caps?”. (beer frig and Kegerator) – I dun no. maybe put them under the bumper shelf. But there might be a small problem, the Kegerator frig is deeper than the regular frig. We are always trying to save space for more toys. If there is a will - there is a way, so I rotated the Keg frig which was the same depth as the regular frig.

FINISHING THE COUNTER TOP
Now I will need to secure the upper and lower sections. Of course it all sounds so easy to accomplish but by the time I make all my mistakes I could have made 5 units.
(Wife) We can do a practice piece with caps before we do the counter top. Another great idea! It was now time to season the top and bottom plywood to give it some depth; stain or torch? – Torch it is.

Now the big moment! To make the counter top have the COOL factor. We mixed the 2-part epoxy to secure the caps and seal the wood (Seal Coat). The next day we mixed enough epoxy to one flood coat than wait 6 hours to finish with the final flood coat.

Just an FYI, you don't have to create a new thread for every update. Just an a new post to an existing thread.

Looks great!
