Wanting to change out my garage countertops. Thinking of metal. Any suggestions? I'm in Northern California. Thanks

Stainless steel? costs about $20 sq.ft (bending and welds included), but you have to cut your own substrate and attach the ss top. I plan to do this.

There used to be a dining place here in town and at the bar, they had hammered copper bartops, then they put the thick barcoat finish over it. It looked fantastic.

Stainless for the counter top is the one spot I have no problems with. I actually don't like SS appliances, but a workbench top? Yeah, that would be pretty nice..

Be sure to support it solidly from below- plywood or OSB with a sheet of hardboard/Masonite before putting the SS on it. You'll get fewer dimples or other damage by having full support under it.
