Covered patio question

In the planning stages and I'm trying to figure out how the beams the support the trusses over the patios attach to the walls. Picture to follow..

On mine the beam go through the framed wall thickness. They bear on studs within the wall.

In that picture the ceiling/floor joists sit on top of the outside beam and look to sit on top of a double top plate in the wall. making both bearing walls.
If you are adding on the joists could also just sit in joist hangers instead of running on top of the top plates if they are big enough. note this is not a cantilever as they are supported by the outside beam
