Covering Brick Walls

Hi All,
I have a 13 x 55 foot garge that has mostlly brick walls. I would like to cover the bricks, either with rendering or? I dont want to loose any space by drywalling with timber underneatch ect. There are also numerous electrical outlets in conduit for the wiring that are clamped onto the brick that would be covered or have to be redone. Looking for ideas and advice.

A light color paint would brighten up the garage. I did a lot of concrete block walls, I used a big nappy paint cover and it soaked up the primer. Finish coats where a gloss enamel and you could run your hand across the surface with out a scratch.

I've nailed metal lath to bricks and plastered in 2 coats. Not that thick.

I've used white masonary primer / paint on cement walls and was very pleased. I haven't done it on brick, but I would image that it would look pretty good. Either use a sprayer or a very thick nap roller.

You coud paint the bricks themselves with a water based emulsion paint or get it plastered. My garage is brick and it's currently covered in a century of now flaking whitewash but it'll end up painted white.

Why cover them? I would flaunt them! A lot of people pay extra to have brick accent walls! Some vintage gas station signs would make it look even authentic. Good luck!
