Hi,

In the market for a hose reel and was looking at the Cox Reel LG series (http://www.coxreels.com/quality_reels/lg_series.html ). Anyone have this, used it, likes or dislikes about it? At about $115 w/o hose (Reference http://www.fastoolnow.com/lg-lpl-320.html) is a pretty good deal for 3/8 size as I can always just get the goodyear hose and throw that on here. So, I am looking for a quality unit that will last me and was wondering if this would fit the bill.

I cannot say anything bout Coxreels, but the link you posted has only twenty feet of hose. Not sure how or where your going to put it, but 20 feet might not be enough.

I have the 50' power cord reel w12 ga wire. That thing is really heavy duty and high quality. You wiil not go wrong with any of their products.

Yeah, you might need a little bit more than 20' of hose.

I have their EZ-P-LP-350 (50' 3/8" included) and I love it. Absolutely love it. The price difference between mine and the less-hose option was less than $40. Might as well get the USA-made hose from them then, and it comes preinstalled. Saves the hassle and potential leakpoint.

Back from the dead.

Couldn't I buy a hose reel with 25 or 20 feet hose and replace it with a 50ft one? I think I have some air hose lying around that I could put on there that is longer than 20ft.

Not if you buy the reel you linked to. It's only capable of holding 20' of 3/8" diameter hose. 50' won't fit on a reel that small.

Not only that, but the internal spring would only have enough tension to spin the number of revolutions to wind the 20' up

If you want some overkill in your air setup, I've had these for sale and aero-motive is primo!
