Jeep is looking good! You've done well with the garage, and that's an amazing looking piece of property.
It is coming along. My original concerns regarding space were not necessary. I’ve learned how to maximize the wall hanging capability, and I continue to find ways to hang stuff.

The Jeep project is winding up so I can enjoy it until winter when I tear into the axles.

We feel lucky to have found this property. My wife deserves all the credit. She found it before our realtor and she made such a good impression on the seller that we ended up with the property despite not being the highest offer.

Doug,

Very pretty place! I am down on St. Jerome's Creek in St. Mary's County, little more rural but similar look.

A thought I am having is raising the roof. The Amish guys down here are really good at it. They take it loose, jack it up, build an addition to the walls, drop it down and refasten. Height would really help you, since a 4 post could hold two jeeps on one side, and maybe you could install a loft or mezzanine for extra storage.

Best of luck with your new place, it looks great. And good crabbing!

Bruce

Here in my part of St. Mary's county, we just pile parts, projects, stuff, etc, outside!

Beautiful place OP.
In my experience, your " stuff" ALWAYS expands to meet, then exceed, the available space!

Yesterday was a good day. Finished up most of the punch list items and went for a test drive to fill up with gas. No issues. Pictures are at night so it does not do it justice. I took time to compound the old paint with a DA and it turned out pretty good for a first time effort. Still need to wax it to really bring it back.

I did some more cleanup of the interior on the 95. repainted door panels and installed a new to me dash pad that I also repainted.

I also fixed all the heater control cables.

Next up… new rear main seal and oil pan gasket.

On a garage related note, I finally got fed up with poor wifi reception. My garage is built like a bunker: block walls with an additional concrete lap siding on the outside! Hardie plank is over this. I ran cat6 from the house to the garage through the breezeway. Once in the attic it was easy to find a spot and drop the cable down through the bead-board ceiling to hook up an extender.

Nice having a full strength connection!

Awesome job on the door panels and dash. What interior paint did you use? I've had pretty good results with SEM products but always like to hear what others are using.

Also, are your fenders MCE? They look nice on your JK.

Thanks!

I used SEM products all the way through: cleaner, adhesion promoter, and vinyl paint top-coat. I am very happy with the results.

The JK fenders are Nemesis Notorious front and rear. I really like them, but the color match ordeal was a PITA and took nearly a year and two attempts for the painter to get it right.

Thanks for the reply. You should be happy with the results on the interior, it turned out great.

I like the looks of those Nemesis (as well as MCE) fenders on the JK's. I prefer the OEM ones as I'm not a fan of flat fenders, which is why I am still sporting my OEM fenders but next to the OEM's, I really like the ones on yours.

I was never a big flat fender fan either until I found Nemesis. So many other variations just look hacked up to me. I wanted to stay as low as possible and still be able to run 35s. Nemesis flares let me do this. It is a big pill to swallow cost-wise, but for their durability, design, and functionality, it is worth it to me.

Awesome. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and give your thoughts on them. If I ever get to the point I need to replace my OEM fenders I will definitely take a look at the Nemesis fenders. I think Teraflex runs them as well on their Jeeps and sells them and they are local to me here in northern Utah.

So, I've been enjoying waterfront living and wheeling the Jeep as much as possible.
IMG_4130.jpeg

IMG_4121.jpeg

after this trip I decided to upgrade my front axle shafts to RCV shafts

IMG_1697.jpeg

IMG_1809.jpeg

and I had stuck mud under my rear flare lines (cut down oem) that i bit the bullet and ordered/installed nemesis rear liners!

IMG_1814.jpeg

and the YJ was feeling neglected so it decided the alternator needed to stop working. Rock auto’s shipper FedEx broke that first one so i’m waiting on the replacement.

Great looking place you have. Must be so nice to be on the water. Great looking Jeeps.
We come down from Pa to Chincoteague Va, as much as we can.

So I picked up a 1951 CJ-3A a couple weeks ago. It is a survivor and almost all original. It runs, drives, but does not stop. I plan to restore it somewhat but not a full on restore.

I managed to use some dollys and get all three jeeps in the garage with room still at the workbench.

I see I’m woefully behind in posting 3A progress and other garage changes.

I am well into floor replacement on the 3A. My welding skills are lacking, but I feel improving with each new panel.

I had some other projects consume my time and garage space. I ended up with some crates to dispose of and I repurposed some panels to spruce up my workbench. I added two layers of 1/2” to the top and epoxy to seal the very top.

needs another 48 hours to cure before i can reassemble the vice, air regulator, and put it back into use. Then, back to 3A work!

Summer Hiatus is over and I’m back at the Willys….

Floors done, new hat channel supports in place.

Wrapping up the last of the rusty body panel repairs with the spare tire support…

Test fit hat channel to line up body mounts and drill new holes on floor.

The only piece of original wood spacer remaining is the spare tire backet one. I opted for a plastic wood replacement…

More progress with welding and weld cleanup. I would be done if I had a right side cowl brace. For some reason I have 2 lefts

I switched to pulling the axles and the rear is going well. The shackles came off like butter and the eye bolts slid out. I’ve struggled getting seized YJ eye bolts out, having to cut the bolt. This 75 yo Jeep let them slide right out.

IMG_4976.jpeg
It was well maintained and full of grease. Even the joints on the drive shaft ujoints are full of grease. Plus they came with that rare factory option to keep the caps from coming off!:ROFLMAO::cool:

The rear axle is almost off
