CP Earth Quake 1/2 Impact heavy trigger

Is it normal for these to have a really heavy trigger? It seems like it's either ON or OFF there seems to be no way to lightly pull it for a slow speed, but keep it on the high torque setting.

I noticed some impacts are like that, I don't know if they were designed that way. My old 231s can be lightly squeezed to run up bolts, coworkers guns are basically on or off.

The shop impacts were I work are really slow and low on torque. There cheap Steelman brand but they have a really light trigger, maybe I've just gotten used to them after 8 months

Mine is a 232-c or something and you can make It take a minute to run up a lug nut if you wanted

Yes. The cp's either all or nothing deisel. My IR isn't.

i have the first gen earthquake and it's not really variable speed. if I try to half squeeze it, it would sputter and don't really work.

Someone told me the test of a good air tool is whether you have control of the trigger or it's ON or OFF. I have a MAC angled die grinder that I'm able to feather the trigger. My HF earthquakes are like yours OP, ON or OFF.

My Earthquake is pretty sensitive as well. It can spin slow, but you have to pull the trigger oh so gently. Kinda ***** when taking off lug nuts. A quick squeeze will spin them off to where they are on by a few threads. Another quick squeeze and the lug nuts go flying.
