I'm debating between this and a middle of the road Bosch corded. I don't have any M12 tools yet but the price is almost too good to pass up, especially since it won't be used often.

A tool that isn't used often seems like an especially bad tool to get in a cordless version.

When you pull it out to use it, will it be charged? How much will you even be able to use it before the battery dies of old age? It only includes one battery.

I got this email this morning. I actually have been looking for a new jigsaw, but it seems like one of the tools that wouldn't benefit from being cordless, at least when it comes to my needs.

You know, I've been kind of struggling with this recently myself. I wanted to get a more powerful impact driver, for the rare occasion that I need something stronger than my Bosch 12V impact with 930 in-lbs. So I'm wondering if I should buy a cordless impact, or maybe buy the Porter Cable corded version with 1,400 or so in-lbs? They have an awesome Ridgid impact at HD for $79 but it is reconditioned and only comes with one battery. I love cordless, but I'm trying to convince myself that the battery will probably die before I make full use of it. Sorry, you just got me thinking again......

I agree with your thinking, which is why I held off the last time it was on sale. The only real benefit I can see in a cordless jigsaw for my needs would be not worrying about where the cord is on intricate cuts. I'll probably end up getting a Bosch JS470E like I was planning on. The price was the biggest thing making me consider this Milwaukee.

On that note why isn't there a high torque corded impact comparable to the M18 Fuel that does 1100 Ft-LBs nut breaking. You'd think a corded version would be a no brainer?
