Crack Chasing

I'm in the process of preparing my floor for 18x18 VCT. I know the VCT debate and have added a few gray hairs in the decision process, but I'm going for it.
I have a few cracks that run the length and width of my 20'x25' slab.
After researching this board, it seems the consensus is that I need to chase cracks before I lay tile.
I'm looking for advice on my plan and/or the proper way to do it.
Here's some photos of a small test section that I did.
I also plan to fill the chased cracks with a epoxy filler.

I know very little about repairing cracks in concrete and laying VCT but it looks to me like you are doing the right thing.

What your doing is bang on !

See my link for how I did it.

But basically your correct , chase the full length, the width you have is fine, don't need to follow the line to close.

But use as you say an epoxy filler, noting that it will shrink, so do 2 layers and then sand off the top layer so that it is level.

ALSO I would (this time around) put a masking tape close to the line, so the OVER spill is easier to take off.

Thanks for the advice..the crack chasing blade suggested would definitely do a better job with the tapered blade. Also the masking tape prior to epoxy is a great tip.
I decided last minute that I wanted to knock this out over the weekend. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared with all my supplies..specifically my epoxy filler. If I'd planned ahead, I probably would have used the product from Legacy Industrial.
So, after a quick search on this site for alternate filler, I discovered "10 Minute Concrete Mender" from RoadWare. Probably overkill for my project, but I found a local supplier and after some frustrating time in ATL traffic, I made it to the supplier just before they closed on Friday. The product was priced as quoted to me (which I knew was going to be a bit pricey), but what I didn't plan for was the "double barreled" caulk gun priced at $80! Not wanting to make the trip for nothing, I went ahead and got what I needed. BTW, There may me a gently used double barrel caulk gun on Ebay in the next few weeks so keep an eye out
I finished chasing approximately 30 ft of cracks on Sat. Check the picture below for how I managed the dust. Got the idea from a post on this site. Worked out great, no dust, and the filter on my shop vac just had a trace of dust on it. Majority of dust ends up in bucket.
Tomorrow, I plan to apply the 10 Minute Concrete Mender to the cracks.

Back from the dead. Any updates, i'm in the process to fix cracks in my driveway and this stuff seems to be the best on the market.
