We just moved into a new to us house that has had foundation repairs done. The garage has quite a bit of cracks that have started to crumble and turn into bigger cracks. Does anyone have any reccomendations on what type of material to use to at least fill them in so they don't look so bad?

What are your future plans for the floor? I use a 2 part epoxy crack filler- but it would not look good if you are leaving the floor as is. You can go to lowes and they have some concrete crack fillers that match plain concrete. I chip them out if I am installing a coating, but they work to keep the gunk out of the cracks.

If you are going to do an epoxy coating on the floor, is it better to do an epoxy filling in any cracks first?

Not trying to thread hijack, but this is something that I have been thinking about myself.

Thanks for the reply. I will be installing tile over the concrete but want to make sure the repairs are sound to avoid problems later on.

You should be able to use concrete patch from your local box store. Just try to remove any loose debris from the cracks prior to patching. Good luck!

I had cracks in my concrete that I filled before my VCT install. I asked around quite a bit, and bought this at Home Depot and it worked great.

Get the one in the squeeze bottle.

QUIKRETE® Gray Concrete Crack Seal (No. 8640) is a uniformly blended latex emulsion, specially designed to adhere to all concrete surfaces. No mixing is required. Just pour from the bottle. Blends in with the natural color of concrete.
