I have a small crack on the plastic gas tank of a KDX, can it be repaired or is it a goner? The crack is about an 1.5 inches and comes from the threads where the petcock attaches.

can't say for sure without pics but products like por-13 (believe that is the name but most tank liners are good) work wonders. I'm a pretty rough welder and my lined tank has never leaked.

Check out IMS for a larger tank if you want one. I had one on my KX500 and liked it. It was a bit wider than the factory tank which took some getting used to but I ended up really liking it.

Mine was in Kawi Green. Clarke also makes larger tanks for them. I had a KDX220 as well but didn't buy the larger tank for it. The KX500 kinda needed it for woods riding.

I use a Weller 8200 Soldering Gun with the plastic forming tip to fix cracks in plastic. Works good.

If you do decide to buy a new tank, the oversize IMS tanks are not as wide compared to the Clarke and Acerbis tanks.

I bought the 3.6gal tank for trial riding recently.
