I am sure some exec over at sears saw how much those Snappy openers were going for and decided that he needed to jump on those coat tails quick!

(I actually think these are several years old but just wanted to take a jab :p )

Re: Craftsman doing some great copying.

I got one of those Craftsman openers at my local Sears. Wish I could get an opener from Snap-on. Maybe I should take the metal opener piece from the Craftsman opener and install it in a SO hard handle.

Sears also has these:

and you can even order them personalized like in the photo.

Craftsman has three different bottle openers - the screw driver handle one and an all metal handle version along with a Nascar branded one.

They do and I'd love to get my hands on a set.

I bought a set of the Craftsman grill tools, and they are pretty awesome. I liked them so much, I bought a second set for our travel trailer. I keep both sets in long, flat, black plastic Craftsman toolboxes that are supposed to go behind the seat in pickups. The box is just big enough to be able to snap the lid closed.

As far as bottle openers, I have two of the raised panel style, and one of the red screwdriver style, and I must say that the raised panel bottle opener is one of the best designs for a bottle opener I have seen. The screwdriver one is "ok", but it will bend if stressed. The raised panel ones are incredibly solid.

The Snap-On ones are going for about $40 on ebay, which seems silly, especially given the quality of the Craftsman seems better to me.

I've had that bottle opener in my hand about 3 different times and put it back each time. Just can't get myself to spend $8 on it.

FWIW, Klein as well as many other tool manufacturers produce bottle openers with their signature handles.

Park Tools makes one too (and a pizza cutter).
I have their BBQ set.

I've got one of the raised panel forged Craftsman bottle openers. I think that thing was designed to pull the caps on a supertanker. It is by far the strongest bottle opener I've ever seen.

About a year after they released it (I think it was around 6 years ago), Kobalt came up with their own clone, but it's nowhere near the quality.
