I located and bought a Craftsman table saw 113.29901 for $45.00 cheap. Seems to be fairly complete and I have not yet cleaned it up. I am just trying to gather as much information on this saw as I can. I do know that the electric switch assembly will be replaced with a paddle shut off switch as I do not like the one toggle switch assy that is on this saw.

Cool looking saw. I guess I've been collecting the older saws lately. For some reason a lot of them have the switch on the motor itself. I'd like to put a paddle switch on them, too, but I want it to look "vintage", so I suppose I've got some making to do.

Mine had a 3 prong plug and about 8' of wire. What I found was a foot operated switch from Harbor Freight and I bought that. I like it! https://www.harborfreight.com/power-maintained-foot-switch-96618.html

I tried it out tonight after almost 4 hours removing the rust from the table and waxing it with paste wax. I tried it out on a scrap 2 X 4 and it has a really good blade almost new judging by the way it cuts the wood without any burning. The rest of the time was fixing a handle cleaning and spraying down the adjustment rods with dry lube and and blowing and vacuuming out the various areas that had collected saw dust.

Wow, I've finally seen another saw fence like the one I bought for $10. I installed it on a CM saw, and as luck would have it, it appears to be a real CM fence.:rocker:

Yes they appear to be the same and I was thinking it was a aftermarket fence. I guess that it is a Craftsman. I did find at Habitat for Humanity Resell store today a 10" Sears Craftsman blade with the 5/8" hole in it. Got the blade for $2.50 price tag says $10.00 but when I got to the check out they took 75% off.

That is a great find and great price! You have the nicer table extensions. That fence looks great too, it’s a step above the one I had on my Craftsman tablesaw!

Go through a good tuneup—clean and lube everything and above all make sure the blade is perfectly parallel to the miter slots. It’s adjustable. You won’t be able to do accurate work without that step. Check your bearings for smoothness and runout. They are replaceable.

Great idea with the footswitch! Also, do yourself a favor and get a decent blade. That Kromedge one is no prize. Get thee to Home Depot and get a couple of carbide tip (rip and crosscut) blades with a high tooth count, like 40 or better. Freud is a good brand. Have fun and be safe.

The blade on it is a Home Depot one that is still in good shape less then maybe 10 cuts on it and it cuts like a knife through hot butter on everything. I did the alignment procedure already when I was cleaning it and lube it. The bearings has less then .001 runout and appear to be in fairly good shape no noise and quiet. I am aware that they do wear out and I keep a eye on them.

Great! Sounds like you got a pretty good saw at a smoking price! Surprising how many people don’t know about aligning the blad for parallel...I’ve seen contractors trying to rip stuff and just burning the heck out of it. Hard on the saw too.

I decided that the saw needed a dedicated area in my garage so clear out the junk and not needed stuff and a couple hundred dollars of cedar fence boards and wiring dedicated circuits for the table saw and the miter saw and now I have a wood working area. I have a old table that I still need to move in but it is ready for use.

Funny, I bought a CM 113.xxxx for $40 at a garage sale on Friday, and the guy even delivered it to my house. The metal stand was worthless, so I built a wider wood stand w/ 5" locking swivel casters. I am 6'2" so I raised the table height to 43" for more comfort.

Aligned the blade the best I could, but it isn't perfect and any more adjustment would require reaming holes.

I was aligning the pulleys and realized the shaft key on the motor was missing. So I am going to have to try to find one. Going to add oil too, just have to go buy some.

Future plans include a Delta T2 or T3 fence, Diablo blade, custom out feed tables and incorporate a router table into the right side.

For the shaftway key. I got a assortment of them from Napa for cheap years ago. Might want to check it out. Or take and google the model number and there are manuals available for most of the old saws and you can acquire new pulley with the key from eBay
