I got this saw a few years ago for free when the lady next door was cleaning out the basement and finally got to look it over. From what I can tell it's late 1940's (48, 49?) Little bench top 7in guy.

It's mounted to a homemade table that's junk. I don't have the table extensions, but looks like all the rest is there except the blade guard. I have the motor, fence, miter gauge, and appears to have all the knobs.

Not all rusted up or anything. It just needs a little polishing on the machined surfaces.

I have a new production 10in plastic pos table saw already. I originally wasn't going to keep it. After looking it over, and feeling how much better the fence and miter fit, I might just fix it up. If I build a table for it to sit in flush with some flip up supports I think it would be pretty handy.
I really like old machines and tools so it would be cool to fix it up and use it. Such higher quality than my cheapo new saw.

How many of you mess around with these type saws? Anyone have experience using them? Thoughts?

If google didn't let me down, that appears to be a "tilting table" type saw, instead of a "tilting arbor" type saw. If it's a tilting table type, I would repurpose it for a lamp table or something cool, you will play hell trying to rip a sheet of plywood or anything large on any type of angle.

Being a 7", nine is probably right that it is a tilt top, although if it is the one I am thinking of, it is one of the better ones.

It depends on your use; I don't like ripping ply sheets on a table saw myself. If all you are doing is ripping planks, and mitering smaller pieces, its fine.

It is the tilting table type. I wasn't planning to use it for big stuff anyway. My 10in will work for that stuff, but I'm not big on ripping full sheets either.

I figured it would come in handy for smaller projects, after making a zero clearance insert.

Pictures...I know...I know...I will get some!
