We were testing it because it doesn't work and determined the coil is bad. Is there anywhere we can get just the coil for cheap or is this just going to go on a shelf?

Best bet would be to keep an eye out on eBay. But not sure if buying a used coil would be worth it as new palm sanders are relatively cheap. Unless you want that old tool feel, then keep an eye out there.
