Hello All, I just picked up a nice vintage Craftsman 12" band saw on a very cool stand. It's a 103.24280. Runs well, everything is there, tires are good. 1/3 hp Dunlap. This is my first encounter with one of these band saws so I had some questions. Is the wooden table extension a option? Doesn't look home made to me. Is this the correct mitre gauge for this saw? Can anyone tell me who made the stand? It's not marked anywhere I'e seen but is clearly a band saw table. Cut out with sawdust bin (had a lock too - don't want anyone stealing your sawdust), blade guard, brace covering the outside motor shaft. It's a very cool stand. Thanks for your help - Jim

That is an interesting table, I can't ID it but it doesn't look fabbed. Is the drawer a tilt-out for the sawdust? ANd is it wired to turn on with the switch on the cabinet?

I have the same saw and original miter - I'll take a look but I think that one looks correct. I have never seen a wood extension - I think it is homemade but whoever did it did a nice job.

Of course I'd like to find a correct rip fence for this saw. Anybody have one they'd part with? Maybe a better question is - can I cut down one from a table saw and if yes, which one works well? Like to get one that would look similar to the original. Thanks - Jim

The original is very similar to the joiner fence from the same era. I have a 24260 that has the original fence, and will take pictures.

I'm taking the saw apart to clean it and see what's what. Can anyone tell me how the blade tensioner goes together - is the nut at the bottom of the rod supposed to be at the top of the threads (like my photo), or snug against the bottom? Does it matter? Thank you - Jim
