I was lucky enough to snag a Craftsman 150 drill press off Craigslist. It is Model 112.24511. It is complete and in good shape and just needed a little clean up. Even got some of the paper work with it.
Since I know there are several people here who have these units, I have a few questions that hopefully someone may be able to answer for me.

1. The current belt will not go on the front bottom pulley as the pulley is too close to the housing to clear. Anyone else have this issue?

2. The castings are very rough in some places. Inside and out. There is an actual blob on the left side of the housing by the quill lock. Looks like a 1/2” blob of weld but I can see it has not been welded. The blob is covered by what I think is the original paint. Is this roughness of the castings normal?

3. Mine is the dark grey/black color model. Not the gold colored ones. What paint/color matches it the best? I want to touch up a few spots without doing a total repaint.

4. How do I determine the year of manufacture?

Slight deformities of cast aren't unexpected, no matter what the piece. Depends how good the quality control was at the time as to whether it left the factory or not. Wouldn't worry about that wart on the cast. With regards the belt, are you sure you have the correct type of belt fitted? Does the belt sit proud of the top edge of the V on the pulley? There are different belt profiles. A photo of the problem would be handy.
