Craftsman 150 drill press

I have an old model 150 drill press with the speed control knob up front. It's not attached which I know it should be and I am not understanding how it works. any information would be appreciated.

you mean the headpiece itself isn't attached? Two set screws in the backside hold it against the top of the press.

as far as we are concerned you don't have a drill press, post some pictures of it already

I see two countersunk screws , should they be tight enough to hold it tight. ? I was looking for a bracket and holes.

yes they should, plus one dead center on the front as well. forgot about that one til I looked at it last night.

I only see the two and can't stop the plate from sliding around

should be one right there, or at least thats how mine is held on. the previous owner had it jammed on the other side of the top.

That is a big help. I will have to look for the other three screws.
I take it the belts are 20", 21" and 17"

Never seen one of those. I have a 150 and that would be a nice feature. I don't suppose they are still made.

Yes on the belt sizes.

Those came from www.vbelts4less.com this past August. VERY inexpensive... $.93, $1.11, and $1.16. YMMV.

I played with the 3 screws that I didn't know were there. It's getting better. Now to figure were it should be.
I am a Gates dealer and a fan of good belts so I guess I will order them from my jober
