I have found a Craftsman 150 Drill Press for $ 50 Bucks . 50 Years old. 1/2 HP

Going tommorow to check it out.

Looking for something well made, that can be lightly restored .

My bench model has a 3/8 chuck , so I was looking to upgrade. These things just look Cool !

What do you guys think about the price ?

What should I lookout for ?

Thanks for your Thoughts on this .

Not a bad price at all as long as it's in decent condition.

You might want to take a look at owwm.com
There's a whole group of people dedicated to using and restoring old machines like that.

Heres a link to a bunch of old manuals for old craftsman tools.
The drill press should be there somewhere.

Sounds like a good price. I have one myself, as do a number of other people here. They sold basically the same press for probably 20 years or more, with only minor changes like paint color.

OWWM does have the manual. Assuming you buy it, just get the Sears part number off the tag and do a search on their site.

The owner said it does not drill strait with the chuck in , but with the chuck out the quill the is no movement .

He said he thinks the chuck may not be all the way in and crooked .

Is there an adjustment on the quill ?

or could it be as easy as reinstalling the chuck correctly ?

Going to check it out , he said it was his fathers and it looks good from the pics .

Went and picked up the 150 , all in all , I think it is in decent shape all original parts there, motor , belt could be original from the lettering on it .

The back pulley has a crack and is bent a little bit .

It has a slight wobble at the chuck , not much at all , bearing seems to be good .

I need to pull the chuck and check further I guess
