Almost all of my sockets are craftsman USA, but I had to grab tekton to fill the 15mm spots in my trays. Admittedly, that just means they didn't come in the sets I bought in the 90's while working at sears, so maybe they were available separately.

I don't think Craftsman made one, Armstrong did in 6 point (in standard and deep well) as Fed mentioned above. I believe Proto makes both 6 and 12 point in standard length and deep well, if you want USA made other than the tool trucks. At one time, you could get Proto sockets from your local Napa, I haven't tried recently, so not sure if this is still an option. Gearwrench, Tekton, and Carpi have them if you want import. Not sure about Japanese or German tool makes since I do have much of their tools.

Found this: Craftmans did made a 15mm 6 point socket in 1/4 drive at one time in the G2 series part number 43515, probably never will be able to find one unless you get lucky on ebay.

I am not sure how accurate this information is. I have a 2003 Craftsman tool catalog and it is not listed in there. G2 Series should be Danaher tool group.

Most of my 1/4" and 3/8" sockets are from the 60s and 70s !

I also recall seeing some for sale on eBay maybe a year ago as singles with a retail tag.

My shallow set is G2 series and it did not come with a 15mm.

My deep set is G1 series and it did not come with a 15mm.

I augmented both the shallow and deep sets with S-K sockets.

My sets I've had for 20 years never came with them. It always bothered me seeing those empty pegs...I found them in SK. Also have an SK semi deep set I've had for years that goes up to 15mm. Great set to add for quarter drive.

Do people actually have a need and use a 1/4" drive 15mm socket or is this just to fill a peg on a socket tray?

ATVs and motorcycles. You’re generally using a 1/4” drive for most 8-10mm bolts on them…no need to grab 3/8” stuff for when you encounter a 15mm

I recall my buddy needing a 1/4” drive 15mm to get to a fastener on an old EZ GO gas cart. He was able to find one at auto zone.

When you have it you'll use it...if not you'll figure out how to live without it while you wish you had it.
