I have had this thing for going on about a year now, and I guess it was my mistake by using crappy sockets, or not paying attention to the orientation of the "hole" on the socket vs the detent ball on the anvil, but none the less...

The detent ball on my impact is COMPLETELY flat, and no longer protrudes at all. Can these detent balls be replaced by themselves, or do i need to replace the entire anvil?

This thing has served me extremely well, removed every single nut/bolt from a 84 Celica (including the stubborn bumper bolts, and 4 link bolts) no problem, but the detent ball has gotten worse over time and is now bugging me. I kind of wish they would have went with the "hog ring" style holder...

This is probably something to ask Craftsman, not a common question here.

The C3s have a one year warranty, they may fix it for free. Otherwise, they can give you the details on the part(s) you need.

I think probably the whole anvil will have to be replaced.

I mean don't get me wrong I love the impact, this is the only thing that I have found bad about it. It is still as strong as it was the day I got it.

I may take it in and ask about it. Thanks guys!

Well I found the part I need, part number 303216001 which is a tick over 20 plus shipping. If my warranty is over I will be getting the part. Maybe a few pics of the teardown ;)
