Just wanted to post that this is a great thread showing pretty much all the different c3 tools as they came in and out of existence. I got started with c3 almost a year ago but only had the impact / angle grinder combo and brushless drill sitting in a corner of the workbench. couple months ago I went to a hometown store to pick up some nextec stuff and saw the ratchet, stereo, miter saw and inflator sitting on the shelf. Checked the miter saw on ebay and couldn't believe what they were selling for.

So... after a couple months of scavenging and selling I now have a miter saw, 6 1/2 in saw, 5 1/4 in saw, 3 speed impact, regular impact, basic drill, hammer drill with jacobs chuck (my favorite), brushless drill, heavy duty 1/2 in impact wrench, jig saw with laser, shop vac, angle grinder, ratchet, inflator, recip saw, brad nailer, sander, 3 big xcp batteries, 1 medium xcp (from brushless drill), multi tool, 1 small xcp, 3 small regular lithium, 2 old lithium with the fuel gauge (i think one is bad) and two of the small multi chargers that hang nicely on a 2x4. Oh and the huge craftsman bag that comes with the 6 piece set.

Still looking to pick up a caulk gun (yeah right), 3/8 impact and a staple gun.

Use the vac all the time and love it. The miter saw is handy for small jobs and I was surprised how much I like the hammer drill. The chuck is great and it's not so big and heavy like the brushless. Also like the 3 speed impact but that bit holder is a pain. Think I just need to oil it up a little.

I have the 5-1/4" Circular Saw, it's great for plywood and cutting 2x lumber... You can cut a ton too on a single battery charge. I have a corded 7-1/4" Makita and a 10" Radial Arm Saw so I can't justify buying a 6-1/2" cordless too as it wouldn't benefit me any for what I do but it would be nice to have.

The hammer drill is the one thing I do want and kind of need since I don't own a hammer drill and have to borrow a neighbor's. My Hometown store has several in stock, but they must be older models because the ones on the website don't show as in-stock at that store... I'm planning on going by there soon so I'll check it out for sure.

You want the older one with the selector on the side. The newer one has the cheaper Chuck design. They come as add on tool or in a kit. I think hometown is selling them for $50/$80.

I plan on getting a good blade for the 5 in saw and use it for finish cuts and using the bigger one for ripping ply and cutting 2x4s. I would like the 7in with laser but the ones the I find are all abused.

Ah ha! Now it's showing the quantity, and only 2 left! Wow there were like 5 or so earlier this week!

But I don't need any more batteries... and free shipping is $49 or more and the drill alone is $47... *rolleyes*...

I'm going to call my hometown store tomorrow and see what the price rings up for them. You never know with crazy sears pricing...

I haven't been able to get them to ship these to my area so check that first. I have seen them in store but they never show up in online inventory.

Well, my store has a couple of the ones with the battery. It's showing I can have one without the battery shipped. I'm guessing it's like the regular Sears website where a (in this case) hometown store has one in stock that is within like 50 miles or so...

What exactly are the difference in the two models? Just the older one has a nicer chuck and a little more torque?

Yeah but the Chuck is really nice on the older one. For me it shows available to ship until you actually try to do it. Then you get a pop up saying no go. Sometimes I get there pop up but then allows the order but not with these.

I may have scored a hedge trimmer and something else...maybe a leaf blower for Christmas. I just watered our living Christmas tree and noticed two presents for me. They looked like those two items wrapped up very nicely. Woohooo can’t wait for Christmas Day!

Nice. I got a pretty good condition hedge trimmer a few weeks ago and sold it off to help pay for the other tools.

You're really going to enjoy the hedge trimmer. The leaf blower is great for blowing out the garage, blowing saw dust off a miter saw, blowing out the truck bed. Love it. Both of those tools have come in mighty handy.

Glad to hear. Just looking through this thread I didn’t realize there were so many item on this platform. Not sure I would ever need a caulking gun but the vacuum I could probably use for quick clean up jobs on my car mats.

Do you all have any input on the vacuums?

Like I said I use the shop vac all the time. Great for cleaning up without dragging out the full size. The smaller hand vac is also good for even smaller jobs and maybe even your floor mats if you do them often. You can still find the hand vac at hometown for $14 but the bigger one is pretty rare now. $170 ish on ebay so I would look at pawn shops or get lucky on an auction. If that fails look for the ryobi version which is also pretty rare.

$14 for the hand vac? That's a good deal. They are over 30 at Sears.com. I got my shop vac for the whopping total of 41 cents. Had some points, bonus points, etc. Best deal ever. Works great for cleaning out the cars.

The reciprocating saw works great, I've used mine quite a bit. Lasts for a good time on a charge too... One time I was at a friend's place cutting up some tree branches, chainsaw sprocket busted. Had the recip saw in my truck so I pulled that out... Was amazed how much I could cut before I had to swap out the battery, it just kept going and going...

I got one flashlight with a bundle (I think it was a saw, drill, recip, and flashlight). It had just a regular bulb in it. I was up in the attic and literally bumped it and it tipped over (not dropped from any distance, literally just tipped) and the bulb died! Of course it's some crazy 19v incandescent bulb too... Did a little research and you can get a drop-in LED for reasonable which I did... Brighter, longer battery life, and won't die. I eventually got the other light that is more like a strip on a swivel-arm... I like that one better.

Just got back from my hometown store, got the last older model hammer drill he had! Rang up as $84.88, about $4 more than the online price but the owner's son (high school kid) was being so helpful and doing so well I didn't want to screw him up trying to do a price match for $4... lol.

About to go out in the garage and give it a whirl... Only other C3 tool of interest he had in stock was the 6-1/2" circular saw, but I really don't need that.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I looked at all the C3 tools on one isle, but he has all the vacuum stuff on a different isle and I didn't look there to see if he had that little C3 shop vac. Of course I could have also just asked him as I know they keep some stuff in the back too due to lack of space. I'm sure I will be back there next week and I'll see what other C3 stuff he might have lurking about...

This metal chuck on the hammer drill is so much nicer than the plastic one on the regular model...

Yep, the plastic one is pretty bad. I replaced mine with a Jacobs chuck I got off Amazon. Still have the old one sitting in a drawer. If I end up getting another drill to replace mine (variable speed quit on me), I may put the plastic one back on this one and just use it for mixing paint.

If I do get a new one, I'm torn between the heavy duty and regular 1/2" versions. So far the regular one has been great for what I need. Other than the extra torque, is there any other reason to get the heavy duty version?

Along the same lines, my Sears has the heavy duty driver sitting on the closeout shelf with a battery taped to it. Must be a return. I think it was marked at $45. It's noticeably more heavy than the regular one. Not sure if I should pick that up or not. Hmm....

The regular drills are dirt cheap on ebay. Since you already have a nice chuck to put on it you might as well stick with the that one. I have however seen stacks of the heavy duty in store so I bet they will be having a deal on them at some point.

I've noticed that too... Even at my Hometown store there seems to be several of the HD models.

What is interesting is this model is only 465 in/lb...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-l...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=3&blockNo=3&blockType=G3

While this one is 565 in/lb...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-h...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4

I think the HD models are brushless? I've honestly never had an issue with torque on my drill or driver... If I ever needed more power I have a corded drill and a drill press...

I think they take the torque with the big xcp battery on the add on tools and the small xcp battery with the kit. Personally I would get the hammer drill we discussed earlier over the heavy duty drill. More options, better chuck and I think better torque but I did not check.

Oh and they only made one brushless drill and it is discontinued and fairly hard to find. I did see one at a hometown recently.

Ah, yeah if the power is out then more light is always better... I just use mine for up in the attic or under a vehicle...

I found this light on sale this past year, it's the 24 LED model with the swivel head. Like everything else looks like it's been discontinued.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-19.2-volt-led-work-light/p-00950202000P

I like it because it gives a wider dispersion than the other one that is more of a beam...

Outlet was shipping those for awhile last month. for some reason they cancelled mine but still shipped the small radio which I do like. I got one with the 6 piece set but sold it because I hate that harsh blue light they insist on using.

Really like the fluorescent work light (both nextec and c3) and use them often. I do have the small led nextec lights and those are fine for flashlights and worklights in a pinch.

I like the LED light. It's great when you're working on plumbing inside a cabinet or vanity. Yes, the wide dispersion is good. I used this during hurricane Irma. Did a great job. Used the little radio, too. It ran on a full size battery for 8 hours before the battery gave out.

Last night I was given a 19.2 v 1/2 impact. Just have to get new batteries for it...$20 a piece on amazon.

I'm going to put it to work for removing panels and sheet metal on machines at work while on the washrack.

The SO picked these up for me and I am totally stoked.

Hedge trimmer and patio blower.

I charged up the battery and used the blower just now...not too bad for a light weight/. Cordless blower. Cleaned up the leaves on the patio with no issues...just what I needed.

My daughter also got me some Ford garage art. Love it!

Hopefully picking up a planer, stapler, hand vac, light and some batteries/charger tomorrow. I don't see the dust bag in the pic for the planer... is that a deal breaker? Wonder if sears parts still carries them.

update: yes all the parts are still available! Bag is $10, possible missing wrench is $4 and new belt is $3.
