Most of my hand tools are Craftsman... I worked at Sears in the hardware department back in the late 70's early 80's.

I needed to replace a 3/8" drive 6" long extension.. and bought one online via Amazon.

Does this look like a Chinese knock off, or do you think it's legit? Not a big deal, just curious. One thing I thought was strange... it doesn't have a through hole in it?

The green cover is a piece of water hose... I slide it over the extension.. it allows me to grip that while the socket turns.. makes kind of a speed wrench out of it.

Thanks in advance!

They haven't had the through hole in a while now. The detent scallops are cut in on all four sides. It looks real to me.

Craftsman has been Chinese knockoffs since around 2012Ish maybe earlier. Pretty much all China made now. Still useable tools but certainly nothing like they used to be

Thanks! I knew they were no longer "Made in USA"... just wondered if the Amazon stuff wasn't even Craftsman... just marked as such.

What's the point of knocking off Craftsman tools? There isn't much money in it. Craftsman has been making stuff in China for years.
