Thanks for the links. It's showing up as $39.99 for each set at Craftsman Club price (before discount codes).

^^ The ignition wrenches are still USA made only, so I believe they kind of have to be all USA made then...

looks like you can get either (china or USA). just depends which they send you. i really need anther Metric set but dont want the china ones.

guess you could always order the set and if a china set comes you just return it.

I just ordered both sets for pick up at store. Last time I looked around, all of the wrenches at my local Sears were still USA, so I figure this gives me a decent chance. Total was $70.34 after tax. This deal came at a perfect time. Really needed a full starter wrench set.

Picked my sets up at lunch. Metric was USA but SAE was China. Checked the shelves for any USA SAE sets but no luck.

I got these shipped to me during summer, and both sets were from China. However, after earning reward points and cashback, I only have $48 in them. So I kept them.

Picked mine up just now...and immediately returned them. They were from China. All of the wrench sets were. The loose wrenches hanging from hooks were u.s.

Now, I'll buy tools made in China if they're good. Some Chinese craftsman stuff meets my standards...not these, though. The open ends are twice as big as those of a normal wrench. They look like the kind that was made before the 70s. I have concerns about whether I'd be able to get them on all of the fasteners I'd need them for.

This is seriously disappointing. There's one less craftsman product for me now. :(

with that said if anyone has a new USA made Metric set 7-22mm ill buy them if the price is right.

Lucky you. Very few of the wrench sets at the 3-4 Sears stores around here are USA made. Maybe 1-2 left at the slower moving stores, the big mall location is almost almost 100% Chinese on sets.

I guess Sears corporate probably doesn't care since the Chinese tools carry the same SKUs, but I bought a DBE metric set today and then had them swap out all of the wrenches for the USA ones in open stock. Since I was dealing with the department manager I made sure to tell him why I was doing it, but he was very helpful and didn't give me any grief about it.

This is why I want to double up in all my USA cman wrenches. I just need anther full Metric set now. I thought this was a good deal to get on to do so but it seems like most people are getting the china ones in this kit.

The pawn shops where I live have HUGE containers filled with wrenches, many of them are craftsman, and I wouldn't be surprised if some high end brands were mixed in there as well. I could get a USA made craftsman wrench set cheap, if I wanted to spend a couple hours sorting through it. :p

I was traveling on the Olympic Peninsula today and stopped in at a pawn shop in Sequim to look for tools. I was pleasantly surprised to find a USA made Craftsman 5 pc. standard 12 pt. large combination wrench set with the case priced at 44.95. They were like new so I bought them. Just outside of town I passed a small Sears store so I stopped to see if they had any USA made stuff left. Another pleasant surprise. They had one of both metric and standard 26 pc sets left. I also found a USA made metric 5 pc large combo set. I bought all three. $39.99 ea for the 26 pc sets but he overcharged me for the 5pc @ 59.99(should have been 50.99) But instead of $15 off, he gave me a 15% discount so I wound up overpaying only $3. I can live with that.
